anyone know MD law relating to using clear stobes
guess ill call the state police just to make sure, obviously you cant drive or move on any highway however having clear stobes on in a private parking lot maybe okay.

I have never had any problems with them and I've had them on a truck or two. Just don't go pulling people over or driving down the road with them. I used them as hazards when pulled off to the side of the road or something. If you work for a municipality you can get approved to have them as well.
You get caught using them unlawfully though, they WILL impound the vehicle and most likely tag you with impersonating. There is a kid who frequently comes by the shop and he has his Impala outfitted with them. We refused to do the install and despite our advice he did it anyway.
Well, to make a long story short. A cop was at the shop getting his cruiser tinted and noticed them and immediately took the tags of his car. They get pretty pissed at that stuff.
I have a Whelen (I believe its a 6 or 8) balast if anyone is looking for one.

after calling the state police this is what they told me
definition of highway = any public road
parking lot is not illeagal to have them on (clear)
the officer i spoke with was not all to friendly, you would think that since they are public servants they would be more polite to the public. It was like pulling teeth trying to get my questions answered. Even when she did answer me she was short on people skills. I gave her the section of code that I read 22-218 and told her I had specific questions that i was unsure of. I started to ask my question and she cut me off serveral times and repsonded in an agitated tone "no, no , no you cant use any..." I had to say excuse me, my question pertains to the use of strobes in a parking lot, 22-218 only states driving/moving on a "highway"
anyways , maybe im being grumpy but what a rude "biatch"
