If your wheels are in good shape, then just sell them to me and go buy a set that was meant to be that way. I have the older style 18" rims, and would like to buy a set of the 06's.

Do they still have the tire pressure sensors on them?

it will look good if you have them powdercoated I'm sure. Try www.eastcoastpowdercoating.com Thier powder coating has been featured on "biker buildoff" on the discovery channel, good stuff pricing is published on the site.

Looks really good, but for the cost of taking tires off, mounting, powder coating, I just went with aftermarket wheels. I started a topic about this not too long ago, not many positive responses. I still think it would look bad ***. Try it and show us pics.

I was quoted $75/wheel from a local shop to powdercoat. When looking at finances, figure in $75-$125/wheel plus the cost of tire removal and re-mounting and balancing.

I have an 03 Touring, with the stock 18's. I was looking to get them powdercoated with a gunmetal color. The guy quoted me at 180 for all 4 rims done. He asked if the stock rims were painted or were they factory powdercoated, to which I had no answer. Does anyone know if those rims were factory painted or factory powdercoated?

I do believe that they are powdercoated from the factory. I had mine done and had them stripped before I had them powdercoated flat back.

Cool, thanks for the reply. The reason I ask is he said if they are powder coated, he can go right over the original finish. If they were painted, they'd have to be bead blasted.

180 for all 4 rims is an incredible deal...definitely by far the least expensive powdercoating I've heard of. If you're satisfied with the results make sure you post it up here and let us know the name of the shop!

Will do, I've got the car stored for the next couple weeks waiting for the snow to melt off. After that I'll take the wheels off and take off the old rubber and bring them in. It's a small shop in Buffalo called Powder Systems Technologies. They charge by the hour ($60/hr) and said the rims with clearcoat would take 3 hours.

I had mine done the first time right over the factory coating and had some peeling issues. If I were you I would have them stripped first to make sure that the coating adheres properly.

It was not like I was trying to save on cost either. Had them done at a friends powder coating shop and paid next to nothing for the job, it was more trial and error. He does impecable work.
