Default Fairlady Z emblem install

So I have this emblem which is pretty heavy duty and I'd like to do it myself.. Should I take it to a shop or trust myself with a drill and some double sided tape..

What are your thoughts on this..

Mine came with adhesive. I removed the 350Z on the rear, buffed away the ghost 350Z that remained, and put the new one on. No drilling necessary if it's the same one. I'm at work so I can't pull up a picture of mine from my computer, but I'm sure that I posted one here somewhere along the way.

Sorry, but my camera is fawked up so here..

http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=4672

It's pretty big and alot heavier than the stock 350Z emblem.. Also has 2 pegs in the rear for stability, so I'll have to drill..

I would say DON'T Drill, because reversing that will become costly. Most people don't know it, but 3M makes some ridiculously strong double-sided tape. If you use their body moulding double sided tape, you should be fine.

Here's a spec sheet on one of their tape products, and you can see it's more than adequate to hold even a heavy emblem

I think the one he bought is for the Z32. I've seen another Z33 with it centered on its hatch and it looked pretty cool.

As JT said, go with double sided tape. Check the strength before purchasing. You should be fine.

Tyler, I just installed that emblem. Of course, some tards will probably call me a Porsche poser now. It does resemble the "turbo" emblem on Porsches a bit. But I think its a real nice look.

I echo what most have said. Use double-sided tape. I was dumb and chose to go w/ a 3M liquid adhesive. It get's messy as **** (at least w/ my butter fingers). I plan to re-do it w/ tape in the spring. I'll snap some pics and post later if you are interested.

no, you cant use the factory holes at all. Sorry for the crap cell phone pic. I took the digital camera with me, but not the usb cable to upload to a 'puter. I'll put up a shot w/ more of the car later. The emblem really does look nice. Works very well w/ the rear end.

Mine replaced the 350Z emblem. The Nissan emblem is still there.
