HELP: Question about Transmission or clutch
Hello, i had 04 350z AT and lastweek i trade my 04 to 06 350z GT 6spd. i have question about the transmission or clutch. everytime when i go over 5000 rpm when i press the clutch pedal i hear chattering or grounding sounds coming from my clutch pedal. even the clutch pedal vibrates when it makes sound. i took it to the dealer and they said nothing wrong with the car? is this normal for Z 6spd? or is it something wrong with my clutch? now, the car has 700miles on.
thanks.
thanks.
it only has 700 miles on it and you are going over 5000 RPM on a regular basis?
Hell it's under warranty. Take it to another dealer if they aren't telling you what you wanna hear.
According to the dealer nothing is ever wrong with your car. I have a 2004 350Z and the transmission had a problem and wouldn't shift into 2nd gear above 5000 rpm. Instead it would grind and take me a few tries to get it into gear. When it was taken to the dealer , they said they drove it and nothing was wrong.
I had to drive for them and show them the problem and then fight to have the transmission replaced under warranty.

Hall Nissan in Va Beach BTW if anyoen is having warranty problems elsewhere. They are great!!
just came back from the cowles nissan in woodbridge. they said nothing wrong with my car. as expected. spoke to service manager. gave him a ride and let him drove my car. he heard bad grinding/vibration noise coming from clutch or the transmission after 5000rpm...he stated "this sounds like exhaust resonator"
WTF. it is coming from the clutch pedal. even he said "i feel the vibration coming from the clutch pedal, but i think it is exhaust resonator" he said he will contact Nissan Tech Support to find out the problem? never heard of such as nissan tech support
hope i can get it fixed this problem. wish me a luck

You'd actually be hurting the car in the long run if you break it in like that.
Ummmm ^ did you read the manual??????? Lol Nissan specifically states not to take it over 4 thousand RPMS for the 1st 1500 miles.

If you don't believe me, believe the tuner god himself:

Every engine builder will have a slightly different method of breaking in an engine. Most agree one thing: A super gentle break-in is not the best approach.

They also want customers to get used to their cars, for about 1000 miles....before telling them its safe to beat on the cars.

And about Sharifs comment, I respect it but dont believe it at all because I dont think he does anything related to engine design and analysis. He is a good assembler and tuner, thats about it.
So all the people who have researched all their lives about journal bearings, rolling bearings and lubrication theories are all fools compared to this guy. May be this guy deserves a honorary Phd.
I work with bearing analysis and lubrication for my work, but not with automotive applications, I can say this link is BS for me.
