Question grind?

ok...so three weeks ago my car was parked on a small incline, i had the e brake locked first, then i put it in 2nd gear, just in case(but it wasnt resting on the gear)..15min later a pappy came backing up in his gmc 3500 with metal industrial bed...right into my z pushing it forward about a foot before i came running through the parking lot I got the car back about a week ago from the body shop($1500 in damage)..now my second gear grinds during normal driving..not all the time some days once or twice, then sometimes not at all, and it never has, ever..So i called nissan, they said i should adjust my seat, and that i must not have the clutch pushed to the floor, nothing to worry about, now i didnt want to be a dick, but duh..and i only have 18500k on the car, and honestly, those aint hard miles.does anybody have any ideas??

Z's transmissions have problems like this. if you bring it to a dealer, just don't tell them anything about the accident.. just have them replace it under warranty.. you may have to try several dealerships until you find someone willing to work with you. I think someone on the g35driver forums work at the nissan dealership. i think.. nissan of fairfax

Yeah I recall the Hagerstown promoting the Dealership for life when I was looking for a Z. Well, I recommend you have their service technician go with you when you drive so u can duplicate the problem. Does it happen often enough for you to be able to duplicate it easily?

no, it hasnt happend for a couple days, im thinking that when "pappy" backed into my car and pushed it foreward, it could have broken some teeth off the gear, which would explain the intermitted
aspect of the problem, but its not like you could hear anything down there, the tranny sounds like its exploaded in there, and the lightweight flywheel didnt make it sound any better.i duno,im a saab service advisior...
