Unhappy NISMO shift **** install goes bad...

So i drive into the driveway and after a long weeks wait for my CF shift **** I see the package at the door. This is where it goes sour... I have a 2003 and OEM **** is on like Zeus himself wanted it stuck for eternities. Either way I end up calling function:tuned because my rubber boot beneath the cotton sheet is all twisted. I get that taken care of but now all i have to say for myself is that i have a torn up/non usable OEM ****. It is literally stripped down to the plastic. I guess Im taking it over to Function:tuned tomorow and have them saw it of.. what a hassle man. thanks for reading.

stalarman@yahoo, show me a pic of what you got. I'll show you how to take the rest of it off without damaging everything since i was in the same boat as you. You can save money and a trip up to F:T.

all 03's had a lot of loctite if you have never taken if off. They fixed the problems on later years.

Also for some of you that has had transmission work and had never taken off your stock shift ****, most likely a nissan tech did it first so it was easy for you to take off later by yourself.

Thanks for your feed guys.. GOD im so beyond infuriated. Take pics? ok seeing that it is 10:14 right now i will have them tomorow.. Not only is my interior dirty.. there are shards of OEM all over the place... The cotton fiber holding the structure of the boot has weakened at it looks HONDA. Not appealing. AT ALL. Nevertheless to say I was so freaked because NISMO's gay instruction manual states "tranny damage" if you dont use 2 clamps. Dave at FT says it would take a monster to break that tranny shaft so i went ahead. A whole bunch of hassle in the heat today and nothing accomplished... The rubber was so twisted beneath the shift boot that 5th was a struggle to get into.. i was SO worried that i had snapped something. Man.. something as simple as a shift ****.. god. I hope i never have to change another one of these again with this kind of strain.

sam.

See yall sat at FT! hopefully ill have it in by then ...

I used a pipe wrench to take mine off and ripped it to shreds. There was no way anyone could have gotten that thing off by hand.

Heres the slow update ... late for whoever see's this. Took it to Function:tuned friday night and dave/juan grueled to get it of. Long story short. Dave's analysis was that the **** was stripped from the 009 tranny swap so they go in my car.. use a saw.. then under my car to remove the entire shifter and after about 20 minutes they get it of. Real nice of them to do so after hours and the car is lookin sweet man. yep.
