You can't just jump in with the big dogs and think you can box. HIN is the main stage for alot of the big dogs. Also, you do more representing on here than a sponsor. I think we ALL know just how good Car Toyz 2 is. and what they're capable of. They're some of the best of the best.

Mike is right...Clean clean and clean again.

I also say go talk to Arthur at Car Toyz 2, he will fill you in and he FULLY understands the ins and outs of it and ALL the different circuits and shows. They are all different. There are different criteria for classes in some than others. Some give you NCCA points, some don't. Some are judged by professionals, some aren't. Some you know who's gonna win as soon as you walk in the door even if its not the best car all around. Others you don't have to have a ton done and you can still win. Thats the beauty of it. They're all different.

With that said if you're looking to do this (and i think Arthur will agree with me on this) most don't have the funds and honestly you don't have the time before HIN to build a COMPLETE showcar that can run at HIN this year unless you go for a specific class. Don't let that discourage you though as there are trophies such as best ice, best paint, etc. Start with ONE area (interior, exterior, motor/ drivetrain/performance) and concentrate on that area (with an idea where you want the other areas to go as well) with your budget. Concentrate on that area and complete it 100% (within reason as small changes will be mades through different years) then move to the next and do the same. IF you don't do this you will end up changing things over and over again and the car will look peacemealed and you'll waste an immense amount of resources.

HIN is EXTREMELY political and imo complete bs (has been for MANY years and I think most will agree).

It's about clean lines, carrying a theme throughout a car, making it custom but at the same time giving it the illususion that it was actually supposed to be that way, which means execution is KEY. Origionality is big, but so is tastefulness as well. Just because you have more mods doesn't mean you'll win. Although at some thats the way it goes.

In the end you will probably end up spending 2 times the value of a new Z (maybe a little less maybe a little more) to really bring home money or big event trophies unless you do alot of the work yourself and have connections in the industry. Even at that, its not for the faint of heart. Sponsors are hard to come by and be prepared to be without your car every once in a while if they want it for display.

Hope that helps.

I can probably name TWO forum members on here that are "HIN Ready" and I sure as hell ain't one of em! Unless you got 50k to drop between now and April, you won't win.

sheeet ya'll better brace yourselves for my appearance. J/p my exterior/interior will be on point, but probably will be lacking F/I. All good though, after gold digger didn't win that one year, I know that where you place has no meaning.
I'm put in wild w/o question, even with no interior or F/I just body kits and wheels.

Yeah I was in the mild class but I got 4th in the overall 2dr class its weird, I still got to do the BBK and the roll cage and finally throw a turbo kit on their. If you don't have crazy/ICE you won't be in Wild, and driven1 is right HIN hasn't been the same since AGP productions took over.

I pretty much show at HIN now for 2 reasons:

1: a sponsor wants my car there in their booth

2: half naked chicks

After Gold Digger lost to a car that it should not have 2 years ago.. I knew that I'd never have a chance at winning

oh the interior of the car and neons will be all taken care of and I'm upgrading rotors, but not doing a BBK and probably on't have the car next year to do a BBK. Where I'm at it's not worth it IMO. F/I is all I really have on my mind. I'm a mild car, but they take a look at it and put me in wild.
