Just to clarify, at the last couple of HIN's I have entered, they looked inside the car and they classified you however they felt like.
The first year I got placed in WILD 1/2 the time and the second year I was placed in MILD almost all the time... You can use the rule book all you want, but unless you are prepared to 'discuss' this with the judges, When you pull in, they will classify it however they choose.
Just my $.02...

winning this year will be VERY hard, especially when the new GT-R is comming here this spring. speaking of GT-R, the owner of Frederick Nissan is supposed to go ALL-OUT ! now that I can't wait to see~ oh btw his selling his gold digger for $70000.

Interesting, I was pretty sure GoldDigger was sold to another guy quite some time ago. Car Toys2 has had it on display a couple of times because Arthur did a lot of the work on it.
As for Gene and the new GT-R... Just wait and see. I honestly think you would have to be CRAZY to modify that car. My understanding is the warranty is going to be VERY strict when it first comes out and maintenance will not be easy for your average shop..

Here's from the 07 rule book
Wild mods
Exterior
color change
Headlight or taillight conversion
Molded widebody
Fully molded lip kit or body kit
Carbon fiber roof
Scissor doors
Lug conversion
BBK front and rear
Interior
Over 50% of the panels finished
Custom made dash
Custom made door panels
RHD conversion
Engine
Swapped motor
Internally built
2 of 3 nitrous/supercharger/turbo
Suspension
Air ride
Hydraulics
AV
Custom located radio
Monitors custom installed
2+ video game systems
7+ amp channels
11+ speakers
Mild is unlimited mild mods and up to 4 wild mods. A lot of it is up to the judge that checks you in and fills out the tech sheet as BamBam said, but knowing the "rules" is for your own benefit.
Another topic that I didn't understand at first when going to a HIN was the manufacturer mild wild trophies. If no Nissans are checked in as wild. 1st place Nissan wild will go to the highest scoring Nissan Mild and 1st place Nissan Mild will go to the second highest scoring Nissan Mild.

It should not be about the trophies or the wins. You have to enjoy modding your car and like seeing others reactions to the work you've put into it.

Anyway, the best way to approach the show is to go for fun and not care about the judging cause you won't win anyway... If you do, consider it a pleasant benefit and not an expected outcome.

to me, I really dont think it's wise to compete with a guy who spend $100,000 in mod alone! u just have to luv the scene(fake boobies! lots of'em)
oh yea and i'll just bet next year's shows gonna be filled with them same damn cars from this year..
