Default Opinions needed... on my next car

been a while since i posted.. anyways.. got an offer on my G and i am probably going to take it bc i gotta pay off these damn student loans

so.. im trying to figure out what car u guys think would be best for these criteria..

under $12k
under 100k miles
somewhat sport
usable as a daily driver
low maintenance costs
no older than 2000

right now im looking at, but debating because of what i put in ( ):
02+ RSX-S (total ricer, but i figure low maintence and good daily driver)
02+ S-2000 (2 seater, not too good in winter, but lots of fun... daily drivable?)
SLK230 (high maintenace.. but benz last long.. 2 seater.. still fun)
Scion tC (newer style, but no power, probably a good daily driver)

any other suggestions?

tC = wanna be my old G35... mm... im going to miss it, might have to go with the tC lol

thing is about the rsx... i really want to get it because i can mod it.. but that would defeat the purpose of saving $$..

oh btw, slk230, not 250... 2000 slk230 ~11-12k

right now im swaying towards the s2k with tC right behind it mostly because s2k is factory built for lotsa fun... tC only because i can get an 05 and minimal maintenance for the time being

Get a used manual xB. It's got room, great mileage, front wheel drive, unique and can be modified! Although it's not so sporty...

my daily driver = car that can make it to 200k miles w/o any major/typical issues. which is why i tend to go more for honda/acura bc they 'tend' to go pretty high in miles and still hold up well w/o too much in maintenance costs

xB = ..... *blah*

get the s2k... there was a guy in CCVT (also lived in my apartment complex at Tech) and he daily drove it. That thing always looked like so much fun, never got up the nerve to ask to drive it tho lol

heres a question

found an 03 base rsx w/ turbo.. 70k miles.. $10k obo.

i think thats a pretty darn good price for boosted rsx..

cheapest s2k with decent mileage i can find is $12k

so... save $2k and go for it?

now kinda eager to check this guys rsx out

'02 SE 5spd Altima - Best all arounder and faster than you might think
WRX - All weather super star, the boost is loose
GS400 - VIP Baller on a budget
S2000 - Most resembling a true sports car
SS Camero - The fastest thing you'll find for that price stock. LS1 FTW

I think if you'd do a 98 or 99 GS400 you could find one under 12k with under 100k much easier. I'd find one that just under went the major 90k overhaul and you'll be ready for 100k worry free miles. As a former owner I'll tell you the car is bullet proof, bought mine with high miles, no issues, just oil changes, sold it 2 years later and made a grand on it.

Esp coming from a G35, I think you'll be disapointed with something that doesn't have the same luxary features and power you are used to.

Just a few parts and you are an instant VIP:

You don't need to go this crazy, but wheels, springs, tint, a grille, and a fusa would be a great start. I've always wanted to do a 1st gen VIP LS400 as my daily beater.

The GS400 is like a luxury tank man. Spacious and has a few extras that you'll look for in others cars. Just make sure you keep it clean no matter what cuz a dirty GS400 is not a good look maaaaan!
