2008 Z Meet Calender
Ok, I thought it was time to branch off from the "Mid-A Drama FTMFL" thread and start a thread to begin organizing a regular meet. Now, there may be other meets dealing with smaller groups, but I wanted to start a regular Once per Month meet to help promote more interaction between the members here in the Mid-A. The more ideas the better, but I am hoping that we can brainstorm some new venues and activities to keep people coming back.
As was noted in the other thread, a lot of members felt that people were inflexible about coming to meets in distant areas (MD guys going to VA, but no VA to MD), so lets try to get some meets in more locations.
Lets start by kicking ideas around, decide on a First Meet date for the year, and get some organized calender going. Also, if you have helped organize or run a meet in the past, share your ideas to help make things run more smoothly.
Edit: I didn't see this previous Meet/Track Day thread started by Aceman: https://my350z.com/forum/mid-atlantic/330045-track-meet-party-thread.html. Looks like we have April 11th as the Mid A track day at Mason Dixon raceway.
2/13 - Here are some links for local-ish AutoX, provided by chugg:

See if we can pick out an AutoX or two from there and set up something. Early April sounds good to me, as long as it isn't cold out!

I suggest we have a meet bi-weekly on the weekend at a different location each time. This way anyone that feels that perticular meet is too far or does not work with their schedule, they can make it to the next meet. There will be car shows/events that people will be attending which makes for a meet itself (NOPI, HIN, College Park, etc.)
and i'll be setting a bi-weekly/monthly meet for the frederick/hagerstown guys but be fun once a month to have a big meet with all the groups just move it in different areas each time so its "fair"

My experience has been the less options the better. It takes too much time waiting for the masses to vote. Make a decision stick to it and who ever can make it, will.
For example. I host a late night run on thursday nights. Its not saturday or tuesday...its thursday and its thursday night. I cant try to make things fit everyones schedule, but ironically only a few regulars, there is always someone new that shows up.
My other advice is to have two or three regular meeting spots. Same time, same place. If the VA guys all meet up and there are 10 cars, then the MD guys if only 4 cars should come down, or they all should meet in the middle.
But if there is two or three regular spots, then no matter when the person decideds to roll, hopefully someone will be there.
One in VA
One in MD
One in the middle for the two to meet up occasionally. I have made some far out MD meets, hell I have made some Hampton, Richmond meets. But a regular spot like what Richmond is doing is FTW....

Also I do like the rotating meeting PRIMARY meet location. Of the two or three regular spots, one could be the main meet spot of the month. That way it makes things fair for folks to drive.
Philly
Northern MD
Baltimore
Rockville
College Park
Southern MD
NOVA Tysons
Fredericksburg
Richmond
Hampton
Va Beach
Eastern Shore
Nags Head
We should def schedule a VA beach over-nighter this summer.

You spelled Forrest's name wrong
So do you want to set the late night runs in stone Corey? I know its a little soon with the weather and all, freezing roads arent a good thing. Is it going to be every Thursday night, or every OTHER Thursday night?

We should have a penalty for dumb azzez that make us look bad. Like we all get to smack them with a piece of honey ham in the face if they cause us all to get pulled over....lol.
