Just thought I would share my experiance. Overall not too bad, so far, for dealing with a dealership.
So I am actually getting a new transmission installed under warrenty at my local dealership. I am still surprised that they are doing it and with minimal headache. I first called them a couple months ago about the standard 3rd and 5th gear grind problem that is caused by the syncronizers going out and they suggested changing the transmission fluid since I am over 30k miles. So I did change it when I had an ACT cluctch and flywheel installed and the grind was still there. I called them back and they said that they would check it out but I would have to pay the diagnostic charges if they determined it was not covered by warrenty. I asked the service consultant to quote me the cost that I could be hit with and after about a week of no returned calls I discovered that he was fired. I started over witha new cunsultant and dropped it off for a diagnoses (about another week later due to crap weather) and today they called and verified that a new transmission is ordered and should be installed by the end of the week.
I say "just in time" because Nissan claims the warrenty ends in May (and I am not the original owner). Nothing like waiting till last minute.
Also I was very surprised that not a word was said about my mods that are done to the car.
Hopefully the new tranny will assist in better shifting at the track.

If its under warranty and it grinds they already know its messed up, a Nissan tech got in my car and heard me shift it once, he said, I'll order the trans today and call you when it comes in.
Hopefully he was straight forward with them and told them it did have an after market clutch. If not, they could very well charge him the full bill.

I can't picture any dealership doing that without charging you labor.
Glad its working out for you! What year is the car and is this your first tranny?

Good dealership. I had a POS dealer that wanted me to sign something that said my warranty was done if they put in an aftermarket clutch/fw during a tranny swap back in the day. And they wanted to charge me for something that they had to do anyways! Fawk Nissan and NNA and the d-bag regional service managers.

I did get the car back today and I feel that the new transmission has made a difference. It's a shame that I had to drive it home (only 5 or 6 miles) in the crap weather and salt. They pedal feels alot lighter and the shifter feels alot stiffer...and no grind yet.
The dealership did try to get $90 out of me. They claimed that it took them an extra hour because of the dual exhaust. I explained to them that they would of needed to remove the exhaust wether it was stock or not. They went on to say they also needed to remove a brace to get the transmission in... again I asked "Wouldn't you have needed to remove it any ways?" and they replyed with "Do you want to pay the extra $90 or not?" Easy answer.........."NO, I dont WANT to pay an extra $90." So I arrived to get the car key at lunch time (expecting a manager to approach me for $90) and the service advisor (with a smile) handed me my key and a receipt showing nothing due.
It's all good now...I think I am ready for some track time.

The clutch pedal pressure should feel the same if just the trans was changed
Does the clutch enagment feel like a stock clutch now?
