Default Mid Atlantic R/C

Okay so I am thinking of picking up a R/C truck... I have found one by Traxxas that does 70+ mph out of the box with a li-ion battery set up.

http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...rx_rustler.htm

I was wondering who in the mid-atlantic has these things... we are all big kids here and I know there are others out there that have them or are wanting to do it. Oh and the fun part... you can mod the hell out of them. Question is gas or electric?

I have already contacted Tom at CT2 for a custom Airbrush Job.... LOL

I used to be in R/C, well still am, but very rarely do I do anything anymore.
Nitro or Electric is like asking Coca-Cola or Pepsi.

Both have advantages and disadvantages, but in my own experience, electric is a little less hassle to maintain. You can have a blast in both nitro or electric.

I suggest getting one of each and see which one you like better. It is very subjective, so it is up to the user.

Traxxas has awesome stuff, and I have had several products from them. Very reliable and they have awesome customer service.

Don't cheap out and go with a no-name brand, stick with the high-brands.
HPI, Tamiya, Team Losi, Traxxas, Team Associated, and Yokomo are top-quality brands.

If you have any questions, feel free to p/m or ask on this thread.

Thanks! I use to have a couple Traxxas trucks and cars when I was a kid. Carbon Fiber Chasis or Graphite for the cars and I LOVED them. The bad thing was they were smooth track only. I was thinking about the above truck cause its more of a hybrid for both street and light off road. 70+ mph is insane so I was thinking of limiting the throttle till I get use to it. I am definitely going for a name brand though. Would be fun to get these things out at a spring meet though to have a little fun. Who's got a big parking lot... oh there is the circle at Functioned! LOL

Okay that my friend is bad ***. I wanted to get a street car so bad but those things are so low you have to becareful with the slightest crack in the pavement or gravel.

The damn li-ion batteries are so expensive for the cars too... eh oh well. It will be fun none the less.

Ha! I was waiting for you to post up figuring you had one. Making the Z faster is always fun but... r/c cant get me tickets.

There is a whole new world of RC out there since I was a kid. Going to get my feet wet again.

Boats are fun too.

Helicopters FTL though. A few bad experiences with those. Not easy to fly.

There is a lake right outside me office at the Rio... and geese for target practice.

There is a pretty cool hobby shop in Frederick Hobby Town USA that has some pretty fun toys and an indoor track.

And yet begins another addiction.... I have thought about slicks for the truck already to get the rear loose but I will have to brace the suspension for it to work as well. Harder springs should do the trick!

I have an R/C car I didnt use last summer. To be honest I forgot the brand, its a nitro 2 speed car, goes nasty FAST. I have an R34 and 350Z bodies for it. I crashed it full speed into a parked cars tire tire, fixed 98% of it (damn parts are expensive, as are tires after doing donuts for like 10 minutes!) all I need is a wheel nut and its good to go. We should have an R/C car/truck meet and run em when the weather gets better.
