Default Comp USA in columbia still there?

Checking compusa.com I can't search for any locations, it just shows a few FL places, I know comp usa closed down a lot of stores, was Columbia one of those stores?

Funny how they all sell similar things but only Best Buy is surviving. Best Buy is actually opening even more stores.

Best Buy is the devil. I go there to buy a $20 movie and end up buying $2000 worth of stuff.

I didn't hear that Comp USA and Circuit City were closing down. That sucks, competition helps keep the prices in check. Maybe I'll check out Comp USA for some sales.

CompUSA is closing down forever. They only have the online store now (probably until they run out of inventory.

I did not know about Circuit City though... but with they crappy service and "Scammy" protection plan... no wonder.

I've yet to hear anything about Circuit City closing, last time I checked they were making money but not as much as they wanted to, best buy is clearly a better money maker. I believe most of the CC stores that were going to close have already been closed, this happened last year. right around the time the CEO laid a bunch of long term employees and paid himself a shitload of dollars.

Best buy stays open because it is like a walmart they sell everything cards, candy, drinks, freezer, tv, car stuff and they are all retards I probably get 10 out of 10 customers that come in my store and they were told wrong info by a best buy employee. That is if they even get helped out...lol

Tweeter a few years back was in some deep ****, but they closed down a few stores (like CC) and have seem to of made a nice turn around.

Another thing BB has done is try to go after Tweeters customers with Magnolia, I know a few guys who work for Magnolia and they're not to shabby.

Magnolia is still a bit over priced IMO, I can get the same stuff from a very highend A/V store for the same price if not cheaper, I think Magnolia would do a bit better on prices, plus they dont carry things I think they should have. HDMI switcher anyone? maybe a repeater system? how the hell do you do highend installs with out a repeater system? I'm guessing they order ahead of time based on the jobs they have lined up, IMO they should keep that stuff stocked, even more so since they take up very little room and are not that high in price.

bah!

RIP store fronts.

I miss the days of going into Egg Head and playing their computer games for soooooo long. I can't believe I was never asked to leave.

I went to the Columbia CompUSA about 3 or 4 weeks ago and almost everything was sold. All they had left was some open box laptops, display cases and shelfs, and CompUSA branded dvd-rs and other assorted junk.

Used to work up there...nice little place, back in the day (this was 2004, though). Price gouging as usual (~$30 USB cable we got for above cost at $1.50), but made some great friends from coworkers there.

Actually just went by there the other day to see what they were doing with the storefront, what was going up in place of Comp...no change, yet. Yea, they announced several months ago that they were closing the entire chain down. Back when I worked there, they closed down a good amount of stores, guess it just got worse and worse.

Do yourself a favor read last months Forbes Tweeter is taking out loans from banks to stay in business, I wouldn't feel to safe with a company that closed 1/3 (49) of their stores and layed off 200 employees last year.

Wow I used to work up there a couple of years ago and would frequent all of those stores. I haven't been up there since. Sad to see some stores go, but hey it's business.
