Default Mr. Tire damages wheels

Took 2 new tires to have them mounted, ended up with scratched rims. The owner/manager was not in so I have to bring my car to him tomorrow to look at and get his decision on what they will do. I specifially asked before I brought my car there if their machine would scratch my rims. I will keep you posted.

I just received my check to Ye olde wheel shop for the same issue with Firestone. They swear that their mounting machines wont mess up your wheels which they shouldn't. However, when a tech is careless or uses them wrong they can and will damage your wheels.

I've dealt with Mr tire and have had good luck, however, I know the managers and have been very straight forward with them about my stuff, also I only deal with one shop, they are also customers where I work, so it goes both ways.

Last time I had a tire changed, I took the wheel into them, showed them the wheel, and said, "once again, tell me if you can or cannot change this tire with out leaving marks, if you cannot do it, that's fine with me, I'd rather you not do it, then for you to have to fix the wheel"

They use tons of grease but, who cares.

I'd trust my wheel to MR Tire before a dealership any day!
Dealerships tend to be the worst places of them all.

19"+ wheels with polished lips + dealership = **** gonna happen.

Last time I went to the dealership they closed my hood on my black plastic brake cover, they removed the brake cover, placed it on top of the engine, then never put it back, closed the hood, somehow didn't notice how they had to force the hood down, and then closed it. When I unlatched the hood, it shot up due to the tension.

Why I didn't pop the hood before leaving... I don't know, but I now have a weird shaped brake cover.

Its the technician... Not the machine. I've seen tires mounted flawlessly on ancient machines. It's all about the care and experience of the tech. Good luck getting your issue resolved.

I agree 100% I hate the fact that the new kids get to do stuff like oil and tire changes =(

+1 I have to take my car in to get the passenger side window looked at. I'm dreading that day. Too bad I can't babysit the car while they have it in the shop and make sure they don't go joy riding in it.

which mr.tires is this? I am thinking of going there for ordering/installing tires. Price is comparable to tirerack and at least I get to save on install cost. Yeah, its hard to say with all the technicians, because its not the machine that is the problem.

Anyone know if they offer a road-hazard warranty?

Yea they do and i think its 10% of the cost of the tire.
