Time for my 30K service. Called the local dealers aroung the Tysons area and the cheapest quote I got was from Rosenthal Nissan $438 (includes a 15% discount). Called non dealer shops and the I got quoted $200 by American Lube out of Falls Church. This is surprising as both Merchant Tire and Tires Plus wanted around $480. Is the quote from American Lube BS? What have some of you paid for this service in Nothern VA?

30k maint. is a major tune up. every 30k is a good time to get all the **** taken care of:
-top off fluids
-replace brake fluid
-replace trans fluid
-oil and filter change
-replace air filter
-rotate and re-balance/check tire pressure on 4 tires
-inspect all suspension components and joints
-inspect boots and bushings
-change diff fluid
-check brakes
-check brake lines
and i highly suggest not getting **** done at a merchant tire.....
if anything make the drive up here and ill hook u up.. the service takes a day if u drop off the car in the morn i can have it done by the afternoon...
were open mon-fri and sat 8-1pm.
our price for 30k service $340.00.

Yeah, the only thing I can't do on that list myself is rotate and rebalance the tires. And inspecting the boots/bushings and suspension components, not sure what I would be looking for, but a simple search can clear that up Everything else is DIY. But it might almost be worth it to just buy the brake, trans and diff fluid and take it to 'Merican Lube in Falls Church.

sigh...
The motorcycle dealership wanted almost $300.00 to do the 600 mile check up on my bike, check the fluid levels, adjust chain, check tire air and check torque specs on some bolts. Total time around 20 minutes that's counting wheeling the bike into and out of the garage.
Why people pay for a BS service I'm not sure.
