Default AAM changed their ways? LMFAOOOO yea right

This has been an on going arguement if AAM changed... maybe they did... but they are back to their old ways.

Background: I have a "friend" who is new to car modding with his Altima (he has ugly *** chrome 20s). But I'm getting him on the right track... he got a Greddy exhaust and Se-r rear bumper. Plans on getting 19" stock g35 rims and lowering his car also. He lives 5 min from AAM and was orginally gonna go to Midas to have his exhaust installed for $300

I orginally told him to go to Elite Importz but that is very far for someone who lives 5 mins away from a "changed" shop. So like many others I figure why not give AAM ANOTHER chance(wasnt my money anyways). He makes the appointment for Thur to get his Greddy Evo exhaust and rear bumper installed. AAM says $300 which is OK for someone that was gonna pay Midas $300 lol. So he drops the car off to get installed. Then on Friday I ask him how it went. He tells me AAM ended up charging extra $80 because the exhaust took a long time to put on. sound firmilar? Adding costs on without even informing the customer? How can some high performance shop take 3 hrs to put on an exhaust on a ALTIMA?!

I'm sure when my friend walked in they knew they could take advantage of him just by lookin at his car and yes they did. Maybe they only treat some people good because they know they are on the boards. What about all these regular people that dont know about forums that go to AAM? They get ripped of and nobody knows a thing.

Icing on the cake... a G member went to AAM and said "***** will charge me $80 to install my grounding wires but can you match the price or anything?". The response... "We can do it for $180" also had a friend from HS that worked for AAM for jsut a couple months and all he can say is "**** MIKE"

it sucks hearing about this, having gone through some of that myself without mike picking up the phone to tell him that your bill could possibly change its completely bogus and poor business ethics. if aam cant install a ****ing exhaust in the amount of time given then they should hire new mechanics or tear the building down and make it a parking lot. I mean come on cant install an exhaust on an altima in 3 hours, go back to college and do something else cause you shouldnt consider yourself a mechanic, your a retard. AAM has the absolute worst business ethics out of ANY business i have ever seen. its only a matter of time before that place ****ing burns to the ground and mike will only have himself to blame. NICE WORK AAM!!!!

i actually thank god AAM almost destroyed my car cause without them i would have never been turned to FUNCTION:TUNED. along with the many other problems of other memebers dave has fixed due to AAM not giving a ****.

Wow the internet is AWESOME. The candid reporting is great.
You would think with a name/brand like AAM it would not be A S S.

3 hrs for an exhaust............wow. I did it on jack stands in 1 hr with basic hand tools.

Then they have the ***** tack on an extra 80 because it took them longer then they quoted..........**** poor business ethics on their part. When they quoted 300 they should stick with it, not like they were going to cut him a break if it only took them 2 hrs.

By law in MD. you can charge up to 10% more then the estimate without advising the customer but thats it no more and no way.
