Lotsa interesting things happened today, when the clock stroke 12:01, I went and:
1. filled up the beater (prices r going back up so fill it up while it's cheap!)
2. did a few practice runs through the twisties
3. played video games
Later this evening...
4. Met a white RSX w/ HID's on the twisties so I figured "sure y not" and followed behind him to see how well he drove. Not too bad for stock suspension, turn-in kinda sucks, but driving overall wasn't bad whatsoever! So of course my gf was babbling away in the passenger seat not really knowing what's going on about some gossip story. I'm on this dude's bumper as he frantically tries to gain distance between us on these turns. *clap clap clap* for a stock suspension my friend, but it was time to overtake him when the road cleared up ahead splitting into 2 lanes.
There's a 100ft area where you have the chance to pass when the road straightened out before you hit another corner. I knew if I followed too closely my exit speed would be the same as his exit speed. Him being the more powerful car could easily gain a few car lengths on me in the straights. The only shot I had to overtake him in the straights was to have a faster exit speed out of this corner... so what am I going to do you ask? That's right... slow down mid-corner dropping a few cars behind and then gun it to gain enough momentum in 3rd to blast out of the exit intersecting his driving line w/ a faster exit speed.
As we approached the exit, he came out at like 54mph whereas I was at a good 63mph enabling me to overtake him by a full car. At that point, I could hear him gunning it during the straights and pulling me back in again... but it was too late, the next turn was already coming up and he had to slam on his brakes.
I calculated his vehicle handling limits/max grip and knew he had to take this turn roughly 14-17mph slower than me judging from how well he did on the previous turns. At this point he fell back 3-4 cars... at the exit of this turn, he was back by 10 cars.
There was a light up ahead that flashed yellow so I slowed down to see if this guy would look over. My gf was still babbling away and was like, "are you racing?" "of course not" I replied, as she continued dancing in the car. (we were bumpin' to some serious tunes up in there) The light turned red and the RSX dude pulled up right next to me, I looked over... and to my shocking surprise...
It was a GIRL! And not only was it a girl, she was f'kin HOT! My gf looked over, "holy ****! She's HOT!" This chick drove better than a dude. I didn't know whether to run her or ask for her number at that point... oh crap, now I just realized... we were at a stop light, wish I had my Z so I coulda done the circular driftoo! Bleeeh =P
