I explained the car did not get sold to me with a front plate (bought it in NV), nor does the only place I can service the car (in MD) provide front plates for the Lotus as that would require drilling holes in the fiberglass. He said, not his problem. VA law said I had to have it.
In the end he said he knew I did not have a front plate, because I was the 3rd Lotus he had pulled over that week and everyone had given him the same story it was impossible to put a plate on there.... SO the bastard targeted me because he knew you could not put one on the car... He thought it was funny that he was being soo damn smart.. I coulda smacked him the douche.

You guys should seriously look into the K40 stealth setup. After brakes, wheels and a new exhaust I'm thinking about getting one. Rather than have a tell tale cord or obvious visor mount, the K40 is built into the dash and only the driver can actually see it. You get 2 flashing lights as indicators: one for front radar and one for rear.

I got pulled on 66. Cop was sitting in one of those median cutouts. I got the warning, but was on the phone... So I drove right by him jamming his Lidar... I was doing the speed limit, but he came shooting out, pulled me over and once I was pulled over, he got out of his car spitting nails. Yelling at me that I had an illegal detector/jammer and he wanted it RIGHT NOW... I told him ai had no such thing, he went even more ballistic and started looking through the car (i had the top down, but the roll-cage was installed). He got really pissed with all the high tech stuff I had and swore to god he had the right to tear my car apart on the side of the road if he had to, in order to get the hidden detector/jammer.
At this point I figured it was worth appeasing him, told him I had just picked the car up, as you could see it was specially built for car shows and race tracks. I had no idea what was in the car, I just told the shop to build me a show winner that could hold its own at the track. He was incredulous, but I told him I was moving the car to Atlanta to have the final tuning done and it would be showing down there.. he let me off with an exhaust ticket... but pretty much told me EVERYTHING on my car was illegal and if he ever saw it again in HIS STATE, he would ticket me for everything and impound the car.
SO, the K40 can work too well and REALLY **** off the cop if you jam his Lidar... So I keep the remote in the shift boot, so as soon as I know there is a cop around, I slow down and turn it off until the coast is clear.
LOL, I had a Stateie follow me on the road to Function Tuned once in bumper to bumper traffic (read sitting still and moving maybe 5 miles an hour every couple of minutes). He sat there chatting on his cell phone for like 10 minutes, then when he got off the phone, he flipped his lights on and pulled me over. I was like WTF, I could not possibly have been speeding and there was no way he could see if I had an inspection or county tag on... He walked right to the front of my car, them came back to my window and said, 'I knew you didn’t have a front plate.'.. I was just stunned, there was no way he could have seen from being behind me the whole time.
