Default Function:Tuned strikes again

Just thought I'd share another success story about Dave and Function:Tuned (do we ever get tired of hearing these?). I went to see Dave last fall to have a UTEC installed. While the gains were initially good, the car never seemed to run smoothly. I had all kinds of idle issues and the car never pulled strongly.

So last week I decided to have Dave install and tune the Uprev.

One word sums up my experience and the Uprev - Wow.

The car is unbelievable now!! It pulls strong in ever gear all the way to redline and idles like a champ (and the AFR is rock solid).

Thanks Dave!!

Mods - Popcharger, UR pulley, AAM spacer, Strup Headers, AAM HFCs, AAM 2.5 Dual exhaust.

Let me quess- the UTEC was his idea and a $1175 special. Then the UpRev was what, $550 special? Did your car start throwing SELs? Maybe not since you don't have cams.

Great for you. The UpRev is supposed to be the **** for the Z now. Can't wait to get mine done and get this UTEC POS out of my car!

Seems like the Uprev is the better choice for people staying NA over the UTEC. I've heard of another guy ditching the UTEC for Uprev and liking it

Yep- only problem is the $1175 experiment to find that out.

I usually just take Dave's advice. Learning from experience, he's pretty much always right.

Still debating on getting mine tuned or just saving that money for the TT kit.

So what were your other better options at the time besides the Utec for a tune Gator? Have you seen anyone else with an issue similar to yours? Were you ever able to get anyone else to fix it or have anyone else look at it?

Those are some pretty strong accusations you're throwing out there and insinuating.
