at one point mobil 1 was mobil 1.... then some oil company I think it was castrol GTX their big wigs came up with this cool marking idea of making an oil and labeling it extended miles or max life or some chit. People went **** yeah an oil that will extend my car another 100K miles! and bought a bunch. Other companies noticed what great marketing it was and bam now you have Mobil 1 (other)
So normal Mobil 1 = basic mobil 1 the stuff that's been sold for many years before marketing kicked in.
My Z gets new oil yearly or every 500 miles whatever comes first =)

I posted it a couple pages back... Cass is the most recent and closest to this area to do it independently.
Frank has been running this in his personal car for almost a year now and he said he has seen the difference between changes as well.

1. You want thinner oil in the winter so it can circulate easier while it's cold, and you want thicker oil in the summer as to not make TOO thin of an oil and decrease lubrication due to heat.
2. Royal purple is indeed purple hahaha
3. Did Cass do an Oil Analysis? So far if you read through the OA threads, 5w-30 Mobil 1 still stands the best when the results come back.
