1. You want thinner oil in the winter so it can circulate easier while it's cold, and you want thicker oil in the summer as to not make TOO thin of an oil and decrease lubrication due to heat.
2. Royal purple is indeed purple hahaha
3. Did Cass do an Oil Analysis? So far if you read through the OA threads, 5w-30 Mobil 1 still stands the best when the results come back.

Mobil 1 is the ****. You may or may not know, but the government runs Mobil 1 in all their military vehicles. On their testing they came across the fact that Mobil 1 stands up to the abuse and heat much longer than any other sunthetic oil. A guy I work with, his uncle or some shiet does that type of testing for the gov.
I have always used 5w30(Mobil 1) in all my cars. 0w40 honestly isnt that much of a difference at all. I believe, as Jeffie said, as long as you change the oil before the end of it's life, you will be fine.
Btw, Chen, stop chasing the cats and dogs around my neighborhood. My neighbors are getting mad when their cats don't come home!

Mobil1 ALLL...THHHEEE....WAAAYYYYYY!
Barney, maybe 0W-40 is better in Frank's and Cass' car because they're FI. It makes sense. You want to get oil flowing faster through all those parts when you're FI, but you also don't want the oil to thin-out too much. I just always use 5W-30. I might get a UOA with my next change just for fun.
In about a week, I'll have some cats that chen cas haz
They won't be useful in food though.
Everyone going to Philly today, have fun! Be safe, wish I wansn't working.

Then again there labor is not cheap but quality is hard to beat.
Kinda like the saying you want a cheap , fast , reliable car can only pick to though
.
Its hard to find cheap work.
But i just hate the labor rate for body shop. Also theyre time scale.
For instance i have been quoted for my front bumper to be repainted. They said it took 1.5 hrs for just paint. Installation was 1hr. Overall it was extremely over priced. I cant stand that chit. Knowing it really doesnt take that long.
I understand its a business that they are trying to run. But if they were a little bit more reasonable with the prices and theyre working habits they could make a kliibg with the right crowd.
I am really thinking about taking up a side job as a painter and body man. it has always called my attention for some reason. I have the space at home to do it. I have buddys that want to use my garage for side work perfect opportunity to learn from them.
