Southside Hampton Roads Caravan for October 4th Skyline Drive Cruise
It's that time of year again!!!! I'm organizing a caravan for any southside Hampton Roads drivers that want to travel to Manassas together for the October 4th Skyline Drive Cruise. This includes Va Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk, P-Town, Chesapeake, ETC.
We will be meeting up at the Best Buy on Independence Blvd in Va Beach at 6:15AM on the morning of October 4th. Leaving NLT 6:30 AM.
I know it seems early, but this allows for a timely non rushed cruise up to Manasas to meet with the others. We normaly have plently of time to eat, gas up, and meet the NOVA members once we get there.
Here's the main link.

Add yourself to this list as well if you are doing the southside caravan.

What route are you planning for the trip up? If we don't have enough interest from the central/richmond area we may just meet up with you guys in-route. Right now I believe there is only two of us.

We should have plently of time to meet up. I remember on the first cruise i attended we met the Richmond members on the 95N rest area just after the 295N bypass. So that's an idea too if that works for yal.

I'll be trying for a new set of tires myself. Alright, I still think there are only 2 of us making the trek. The question now is if we want to run 95 all the way up or the backroads. Not normally a fan of 95, but may make an exception for a Z parade .
Does this somewhat resemble your route? I plotted the route I normally take as well.

95 is horrible... i would much rather leave more time and take some backroads, have better scenery, and not fight for my life against retarded drivers - I was on it for about 5 hours today.
I'd be interested in going the back way, up 33 and so on, but not 95.

Personally, I'll be doing it in one day there may be some nova guys doing the hotel thing. I too would rather do the backroads, if you guys are going the way of the map we could meet you just outside of Richmond and caravan up there.

Dude, i assure you, having made this cruise 4 times now, it's not so much driving that you can't do all this in one day!! We have rolled 10/15 deep from Va Beach and back in the same day, home usually around 7/8ish.
If you are going on a driving event, why not drive!!!

That's cool, I completely understand. I forget you guys have an extra couple of hours to get there. It looks as though it added around 30min to the overall time, but only 6miles. I want to say that we showed up in record time the last time, who would've guessed in a pack full of Z's?
Every time I run 95 through NOVA I catch an accident somewhere, just a more peaceful approach to getting there :P. I know I'd be pretty tense after traveling nascar style up 64 for a couple of hours, that place is ridiculous.
Sure we'll keep collaborating, it's only a month away

So I got new tires buy they don't match which I didn't think would matter. One is a kdw and the other is some no name tire I got for cheap but now my car is not handling good. It's. Understeering alot so I'm not gonna be able to get on it too much on the turns at skyline.... Sucks for me

It may be a mental thing. If you have Hotchkis sways, try adjusting them. I've had different front to back tires as long as i've had my car (Nitto 555 front, Eagle F1 GSD-3 rear) and never had any handling issues due to it that i'm aware of.
Or maybe i just drive like a grandma on the curves!

We've met up with the NN members before, but there has usually been at big group waiting for us. And with the possibility of already having to stop to meet the Richmond members, you may be better of by giving one of us your cell number, and we can call you when we're getting near, and you can meet up with us on the interstate. (Not as hard as it sounds)
