I figured it probably wouldnt. I was just wondering if maybe you could set it up so even if it ran like **** it would still run clean enough.

If you do the "required emissions cost" to replace the stuff and still fails, is it a life time waiver? If it is, it seems like the reciept thing is the way to go. Unfortunately I think they use mirrors to look for the cats.

Yea I have that done on my car as well. But when you're FI'ed, there're a lot more than just CAT related CEL. Mine'd been throwing CEL due to some IDLE related issues.

The technicality of it isnt on my side.

They tell you at the stations you cant have a CEL period or you fail. We know it should say "no CEL with emissions related control" would be allowed to pass. Meaning other non related CEL's wouldnt matter, but thats like trying to tell a POS dealer that your intake isnt causing the 3 quarts of oil you just went through in your REVUP waiting for your #3 in the Wendy's drive thru. Even though you're correct, and the law is on your side, when you deal with stupid, unkowledgable people its an uphill battle.

While I could eliminate my catalytic converter ineffiency code, the others would be everywhere likely causing the people to fail me. Ive though about it already...

So I guess it would be illeagal for someone to make a piggy back computer that sends good codes to the OBDII port.

Well isnt it a proven fact that E85 burns cleaner the reg. gas?

So if you have a 50/50 mix of E85 and premium wouldnt that bypass any CEL codes?

It is only for 2yrs

The mirrors I dont fear, they arent jacking up my car and if they see dont see a cat I can tell em its up next to the transmission off the exit of the manifold, they cant argue there.

I went to the Montgomery County East VEIP testing station this past spring. They still had the rollers and I got my exemption. Try going there, its just down rt29.

Lets make this a group effort. Everyone that lives close by an Emission station goes check and see if they still have the rollers?

Alberto,
"sell" it to a grandparent or someone you know over 70 and prove the mileage per year is less then 5,000.

BTW I went right thru the test with my tyest pipes on the car...no codes.
I missed this

I dont have any family in this country other than parents and sister. This is a no go, otherwise my grandfather would "own" a TT Z LMAO

+1 i just went to the Montgomery county testing facility and they still have the rollers...got waived for being too low. drop your front coils all the way and take it there but they did mention that next year montgomery county will do away with the rollers as well...
