Rubbing one off..... Is it bad?
I bought the TSII hood from E10. I still think he is a little upset about letting go. I love the way it looks.
Unfortunately I have some problems with the fitment as of right now. I have some rubbing coming from the Plastic engine cover. It seems the 5/16 spacer has made fitting 10 lbs of **** in a 5lb bag even harder. (I have no clue how you guys fit turbos in the engine bay.) Anyway, I know ideally I dont want any rubbing what so ever. But it seems the plastic around the oil fill is rubbing against the hood. Also the strut bar is rubbing. (I know I probably haver to find another strut bar which is disappointing.
Anyway, I guess the main question is, how much if any rubbing can I get away with. And is engine type rubbing worse than say strut bar rubbing due to the fact that the engine is shifting around on its mounts while the sturt bar should be moving that much.

Did you see me took off the strut bar + engine cover? And still the supercharger was in the way so I gave up. You dont' really need the engine cover since it's all cosmetic. And if you want a strut bar that might fit, you can try to put mine on. You don't have to buy it unless it fits. And you know I'll give you super Asian deal

Well I have the GTSpec strut bar. It's like an imitation of the cusco strut bar except it has that little hump in the middle so that makes the GTspec even lower clearance than the cusco. Can't get any lower than mine

Cut a hole for the fake ram air like a pontiac
My strut rubs the hood too Grizz, I took a hammer to the hood, but it didn't help. Remember, "rubbing is racing", see your car is telling you it wants to be F/I.

Thanks for the help guys. I took off the plastic cover and removed the washers I had to raise up the bar. I looked and it doesnt look like the bar is hitting the engine, even when I rev it. The hood lays down a lot better now. I dont hear any noises so I think I live with the rubbing.
Such a cool hood.
And yes Cass, I will not let my car talk to your car. I dont want it to catch anything

Take off the engine cover. Its purely cosmetic and not needed. You know its a nissan. My CF hood rubs. But then again nothing on my car is just for looks. My CF lets a huge amount of heat escape from my engine so as long as it continues to do that, its all good..
