I wanted a jeep for my daily driver back when I first got my Z, I've always enjoyed driving my friends wrangler, however. just like the RX8, I just couldn't get past the lack of power and chittyyyyyyyy MPG

Suby = better choice!

Man I'm thinking of just getting at set of snow tires on teh Nismo and calling it a season... Don't feel like rolling negative equity into a car I don't like as much. What do you think? Does it really snow that much out here in St. Leonard?

It can snow a good bit but for the most part we just get 2-3 inches at a time.
1-2 feet of snow happens in Maryland but only once every few years. Even when it does happen the roads are cleared within 24 hours no matter where you live.

The only issue in Maryland with driving in the snow is when it happens either 1-2 hours before work or 1-2 hours before you get off work. Normal all season tires work great, however sport rated tires in 1inch of snow = fial.

I don't see any reason in buying snow tires. Just get a nice seat of all seasons.

just get a truck like me jonathan

But to echo the other people the 4.0 6cyl were the good engines in the jeeps. I almost bought a 97 wrangler instead of my truck but decided I wanted a bed to put stuff in.

Small RWD truck in snow = fial. I use to drive a beater toyota for my daily winter beater and there's not much out there that is worse.

small FWD civic > > > compact small RWD truck.

I guess i dont understand why people are hating on the jeep? if your not concerned w/MPG then go for it. Like has been said stick w/the 4.0 they're rock solid. People that break them or have issues are people that think because now that they have a jeep they can drive across a river, up/down a rock mountain,etc. (with the right mods you can ) but they're super easy to work on, you can get to everything super easy, they will go more places then just about any other vehicle, Have TONS of aftermarket, aren't super expensive to mod, Have tons of good used parts selection,etc. Awesome for summer top off fun. You can get on a jeep forum and find a nice one for 10k for sure, as a side note CHICKS dig jeeps!

you will be fine with all seasons, they do a great job of cleaning the roads in MD and it doesnt even snow that much...

I say this because I dont even run all seasons and I have been fine...I have run my summer tires for the last 3 years in winter with no problems..

I even used my summer tires for 2 years in Pittsburgh where it snows all the time and unlike maryland they suck at cleaning the roads...and only got stuck once while driving in 6 inches of snow uphill... funny thing is the car almost made it over that damn hill.... almost

Snow in SOMD is over rated. It may snow a lot every few years. Nothing to worry about.

I have a solution... Get a spot that's walking distance from work and problem solved! I'm about to do that and ditch my xB.
