So just put some lucas's in the gastank, tore the intake off and cleaned the crap out of everything(it was extreamly black and cruddy), put it back together.its running good but ill have to wait and see if it starts acting up again.

 

I am too lazy to add the caption but if anyone else wants to make another moar boar jpg, this ones pretty good.

 

ok now we can get to work.

First thing that came to my mind was fuel issues or maybe the MAF/Throttle body.
I know many people have had issues with the Z throttle body, not sure about the Max though.

Hopefully your problem is fixed so we can move onto some more pictures of your GF. I'll be checking my PM box for noods every 15 minutes.

Sounds more like the cam sensor going bad in the distributor. Pretty common on the altima. Intake gaskets not it, It would do it all the time although they do go bad quit often.
Could be the MAF but more than likely the Distributor. Since it acts up hot,
Heat affects the dist. more than it would the MAF.

 

ok so while driving it, it craped out on me in front of nissan, so i took it as a sign..After an hour of messing with it, they determined it has something it could do with the maf, a bad ground,or the positve battery terminal.. ..it had some codes that their tool could pull, bunch of transmission codes. They adjusted the idle and cleared the codes, and Its running better than it ever has now,but you know it cant be really fixed if they tell you what to try "if" it acts up again.
So far since sept. weve put a new distributor cap and rotor,plugs,wires,thermostate,intake gasket,catback exhaust,iac valve,and signal relays.
it still needs four tires, transmission service, a new downpipe and cat(its all rusted and falling apart),axles should be replaced, the boots are starting to bust,and a alternator.
It sucks,she got ripped on it 2 years ago paid 10 with a 24% apr and retail on it was only 6, so now she owes 8 and its only worth 4500 private sale. so theres no way to get out of it so we gotta keep it for two more years,then she can drive my z and im thinking about a ppw 08, or maybe a 370Z.

 

I hope she learned her lesson.... Get you to help her shop for a car
