it says "ideas" on prices

not exact prices, so perhaps I was asking the people that have had their cars tuned to speculate an approximate cost

like "hey hokie, I'd say less than $5,000000000000000 for a tune"

^that might be sarcastic because it's in pink

Okay first questions would be... what kind of tune are you looking for? Are you looking for a stock ECU flash? Do you have some piggyback system or a full EMS? NA or FI? No one can even estimate without those info.

Sarcastic example...
A: How much is an orange?
B: uh.. go to the grocery store and find out
A: I'm looking for an estimate. Like an orange is under $1000000000
B: Well then you already got the answer.

A local member told me 500, but that would be her second tune. I just emailed Function Tuned so I'll update when I get a response.

Function Tuned runs somewhere between $1 and $1,000 for a tune, probably?

Actually, oranges are a bad example because they fluctuate with seasons, weather, cost of shipping, and things of that nature.

I believe "commodity" is the word, so what you are saying is that the weather, cost of gas, and the types of bugs could be an issue?

Trends based on orange prices:

All in all, you did make a very good point. I didn't realize that the ECU and mods were factored in to the price of the tune. I have just read in the forums that after a few simple mods, you should get your car tuned and I know on EvoM, there are some guys that tune via email. So I wanted to see what was out there.

Thanks for the help and enjoy that wonderful data related to orange prices

It all depends on the customer...what they have...what they're looking to have...etc.

Do you have an aftermarket EMS? If so, what kind? Do you already have a flash (Osirus for example)with software on it? Are you N/A or F/I? What kind of mods?

Those are all questions specific to a car that will make the price vary.

An Osirus package with dyno tune on an N/A car will run you around $600 otd from my memory...but don't quote me on that. IF you already have the Osirus software and rights on the ECU then it is just tuning. F/I cars will naturally be more expensive as the tuning is a little bit more in depth and time consuming.

Thanks everyone.

I have ZERO mods, but I was thinking about the Fujitsubo exhaust and a JWT intake. Not sure if I would really need a tune, but wanted to see my options.

The support is appreciated

last dyno day at hills garage there was a special for an osiris NA tune it was 670 including tax. that included the software.

You would have to call for exact quotes and regular pricing.

It's like saying, "Don't waste your money on BMW's because all you are paying for is the name". Thousands of dollars from now he will look back at my post and say "damn, I paid all of that extra money just for the name". Also, you do realize some people don't have the money to go F/I and will never have the money to go F/I? That's one reason they go the N/A route. There's plenty of N/A Z's out there that are a blast to drive. Other reasons why some people stay N/A include "reliability" and "drivability" issues. However, both of those issues can be minimized by installation by an experienced technician, proper tuning, and routine maintenance.

see, that is an amazing post and exactly what i was looking for.....it included a general price, it mentioned that it was a dyno day, and it also told me that i need to look in to software

obviously, when i made this thread, i knew nothing about tuning my car, when to tune my car, or what was needed to tune my car, but using the search option didn't help me find a price, so i made a thread

you've all been very helpful
