Any1 want to help me install my SC? 757 area
I just ordered the somewhat new GTM supercharger turn key kit for my 08 Nismo which is fully stock. I am deciding between doing it by myself/with someone or just take it to a reputable shop and fork out the 1k-2k install price. However I would love to get to know more about my car than I do. I am an average tool guy meaning I have changed oil, filters, breaks, rotors, intakes, tires, pads, lights, and headers on a few different cars. But as far as a turbo kit or SC kit, NO! I would need someone that has done it and can for sure help me and show me how to do it. Again I do not mind paying a shop but honestly would rather get to know my car better and for the experience. I live in the area of Newport News, VA--757 area. If anyone can or knows someone that can and would be willing to show me please let me know. I am sure I could pay some, provide lunch, beer(after your done working on my car lol) or something else I am sure we can talk more about it. The bad is it will have to work around my schedule since it is 28 days on and 14 days off so we would have a 2 week period. Also the kit should be here in the time of Oct.1st-10th and sadly because of other things I have to attend this time home I can only be around to help Oct. 8th-12, so may be that weekend. We can talk later if I get someone that can for sure do this. Let me know and if you need any more info please say it. Thanks

Since the motor doesn't need to come out of the car, the SC install shouldn't be that hard if GTM provides detailed instructions. What about other supporting mods? Dyno tuning?
yeah I would take it to get dynoed after the install which again makes me just want to take it and get it all done at once but figure I ask around to see if someone knows for sure how to install it so I can learn. If not, no biggie figure I ask
p.s. I have gotten a bunch of quotes from reliable shops and looking like all said and done around 1500 give or take a couple hundred to install/extra parts-time if necessary/dyno

Pay a reputable shop to do it RIGHT. Since you have that timeframe blocked out, just go lurk around at the shop and "help out". Done it myself... the owner of the shop didn't mind at all.

I would say install it yourself they arent too extremely difficult then spend the money for a good tune with Osiris. Click link in my sig for my recommendation of what shop to use
if you havent already figured it out;
things to think about:
oil cooler
upgraded clutch
Return Fuel system
What EMS??
Gauges to monitor temps
keep us updated on how everythign goes
best of luck with the build hope to see your car FI'd and on the road soon!!
^That sums it up. OP, if you decide to go to a shop, then go to Hills Garage. Check out the link in my sig if you don't believe me

I have contacted Hill's garage and they quoted me close to 1700 bucks with install, parts that may be needed and 3 dyno pulls...Oh and forgot to mention the kit comes with everything you need for the most part. Sam told me it is basically literally bolt on and comes tuned. So as of now I told Hill's even though it be a 3 hour drive I don't mind that at all. However with there busy schedule and mine as well with work it is looking like I will have to wait till the 2 weeks of November 10th-24th :/ But it will be worth the wait! Will keep you posted.
forgot to mention I am only home 2 weeks and then I go out to sea 28 days at a time and the time I am off beg of October they don't have a opening /cry---I am fully stock and Sam said with the stage one turn key kit I will be fine because I don't plan on trying to push much more than 400 rwhp and 330 rwtq since it will be my dd even though I only drive it 2 weeks at a time!
I thought for sure the GTM turn key kit came with a -GTM Custom mapped plug-in And play engine management for optimum engine tune and power. Or would I still need a tune after that? I am still new at FI :/

I would highly suggest spending the extra money and getting acustom tune.
Im sure Sam's engine management will run it but it will not be optimal. Dont forget that they are in cali and you are here in md elevation, and other factors all effect your tune. If you dont want to spring for it now I suggest seriously considering it and getting a real tune in the near future.

Plug and play tune will get you to the shop. I HIGHLY recommend getting a tune after that.
o K thanks for the info and I will take into consideration! I am also talking to Function tuned in VA! As of now it is between Hills Garage and Function tuned. Will keep you posted though I probably will not make the final decision till next week.
I may be able to come in a little cheaper on the labor but true that the other two are more experienced with this platform. I do alot of Nissan work and always have but probably 60-70% of what I do is Mitsu.
