Mid A Martial Arts, anyone game?
Its going to be either Saturdays or Sundays, I'd rather do it earlier then later so that we can all get out and still have most of the day left. maybe 10-12 or 11-1ish? Then people who want to eat lunch can go out for lunch, people who have stuff to do can just split.
If you guys want to get together this weekend, we can meet at my house or if E10 is game, his house. I'm in Odenton near Ft meade and hes in Rockville.
For starters with little to no room, we can go over the basic blocks as with some basic punching/counters maybe a take down or two. (take the person to the point of about to fall then stop)
Once we get mats we can learn how to fall. Once you know how to fall we can do real take downs and throws as with some basic grapple work.
Should be a fun time.
I'll be in class from 10am - 7pm Sat. and up to 5pm on Sun so I won't be able to make any morning festivities. If you plan on anything later in the evening I'll be down.

Once we get going with things, we'll see where everyone stands and what they want to do both times and locations wise.
I do plan on getting wavers made up so every location can have their own waver stating do at your own risk yada yada yada. Fro anyone who might be hosting.
Barny we're not going to be doing anything crazy for awhile, at first its going to be all the basics. If we get mats and space we can do some ground stuff, but without them, I doubt we'll be working to the point of breaking a sweat. Mostly just standing, and learning the small stuff. So even if your head is wack, you'll still be fine.
Can I get a head count for this weekend? I want to contact my NVA guy and see if maybe we can go to his place first since he should have room and mats so you guys can get a better idea of what we will get to do. I'd hate for everyone to stand up in my house and go, this is lame because you can't see the big picture.
Got some more #s for you guys.
Membership for black belts and up is $75 a year
Membership for brown belts and under is $35 a year
Testing cost ZERO unless you want a certificate from Japan stating you hold rank. If you want one, then testing is $15
My old instructor sounds game to get back into it and hes got a lot of mats. I might beable to buy them or barrow them for use at E10s house.
Things are looking up.
We're trying to rent a room in NVA for January 22nd that is a Saturday. Sounds like its going to cost us $30-50 for the room. That includes the main guy for the US KU, instructing us. I also might have my old instructor joining in that day as with whoever on here is game.
Price for the day will be the cost of the room $30-50 divided by x many people. 10 people show up it means it will cost us at most $5 or less.
If you plan on going on the 22nd, I do ask that everyone who goes has a uniform by that time. As far as the next 2 weeks at my house or E10s house, I could care less what you wear. Having 2 KU instructors in NVA makes it a bit more formal.
As far as this weekend, who is game? We need to start a list and what day. Lets get this worked out tonight rather then Friday.
Also, we have another spot for practicing. My old instructor said he'd let us use his house, he just has to move some stuff around. He's located in Calvert County just across the PG/AA line right off 260/jewell road.
Lets get this going!

Also make sure you buy a Karate uniform not a TKD Uniform.
Karate, notice how it fully opens up in the front.

TKD Notice how it's a V neck that you have to slip on.
