IAG quoted me 199 to do an alignment AND corner balance the car. About a 3 week wait right now but ill just run the car as is and wait for them over spending twice as much elsewhere.

I was going to give you a call... but then I noticed that I did not have your phone.... You should have gone to the PM on the SCCA, or do 4 runs on the afternoon on the CDC.

They also did 2 fun runs at the end of the day.

If it makes you feel any better, your first 3 runs would have sucked because Heats #1 and #2 were the ones drying the track for us.
The PM, as you know, was dry.

I did o.k. I ****ed up 1 turn in all the 6 runs and could not get the best time I could have had. But at least Im happy I got 1 clean run

 

I'm an OG....I would have just bumped myself back to 3rd or 4th heat..... It looked like a complete wash out when I looked at the radar at 5. By the time I woke up again at 8am....95% of the stuff that was on the radar had gone. AI (SCCA) was morning only. BMW NCC I could have done afternoon, but from the vids people posted.....that new lot sucks.

 

Results for CDC are up.....damn....I probably had a shot to take FTD.

Probably. The FTD was the miata from the Cheapcameramount guy with huge overgrown wheels and tires that sticked about 3" out of the car!

I think I am going to start researching a bit into modding the Z to kill some of the understeer. Sometimes is really bad and I am only able to push the car on the turns.

Well. I think there is Ax this Saturday is CDC, so I will be there.

And I am doing a Rallycross sprint on Summit point as a codriver on Sunday if it does not rain.

If it rains, I will be on the CDC test and tune.

 

BTW, can anybody explain to me the index and how those work? I cant believe that I have such a high index with a 100% stock Z

 

HA! You should see my index. Only the cobras have a higher one. Franklin's miata is pretty dang quick on some courses. It would have been tough to beat him from seeing the course on video.

I am tentatively going to do PCA Bowie on Sat. Unless I am feeling lazy and just run CDC. Regardless I will be running with CDC on Sunday.

They DO use the lower lot....so be very careful.

 

I've signed up for both Sat and Sun with CDC. It's just cheaper and saves me gas money. Plus the PCA website wouldn't let me register without a PCA member code....

If you plan to come to Frederick, you need to sign up asap! They tend to cap it at 80-90 cars....since the lot is so small. Weather, finally, looks spectacular. I need some reinforcements against the S2k's.

 

ill go ahead and sign up for saturday at cdc. I wont know till WED if I can actually come but Id rather have a spot and have to cancel then not have a spot.

Send Ed Chan an email. He can get you signed up for membership. You can also do it Saturday on site. It will be faster/easier via email I would think, though.

 

I emailed him yesterday he said to do it on site Saturday... hopefully tryouts arelater afternoon so I can make it

 

You can do morning only. You get shorted, though. 4 runs in the morning.
