Well....the car was only on 5 healthy cylinders. Cylinder 2 has misfire. I'll try and source the issue sometime this week. Sucks....I couldn't hear any audible misfire, but the car just felt flat in acceleration. Probably could have been in the 31's.

Unplug the #5 coil pack, if it runs the same then you have a dead pack most likely. If it runs worse, do compression check ASAP.

I don't know if you DD it or not but don't drive it with a dead pack if you can help it... washed cylinder wall = FTL.

No, but I did have to drive it 55mi home. I did make one run on the light.....I didn't notice it until I was in the first corner. Oh well. I cleared the code...I will start it up and drive it for a few mins tomorrow or tuesday. We'll see if it comes back. If not it may have been a fluke thing. It was rather sudden. Ran strong as a horse last week and in the morning. No extra smoke, noise, etc.....the light just popped up and it felt down 20-30whp. Didn't feel weak enough to be down an entire cylinder and in limp mode, though. That is what makes me think it might be nothing....

I think the code would have erased by itself if the missfired would have gone away. So if you had to clear it, its still there.

Its normal not to notice missfires on big 6-8cyl engines.

I am going to pull out the #2 coil pack and see if it's blown tomorrow. I haven't driven it since I cleared the code.

I may baller up and buy a set of AST shocks for my car if my motor isn't done.

Well, I think I may have sorted the car. Registered for SCCA tomorrow. I see that Roberto is registered as well. Get ready for a big step up in competition and course. SCCA is extremely regimented and strict. The tech process is a bit more invasive as well. Be sure to get there early. I will be there about 6:30-6:40am. Ideally you want to be through and on grid by 8am. Keep in mind that the lines for both registration and tech will be long. There is 100 cars that run in the morning and 100 that run in the afternoon. Once your car has been teched.....you must grid your car in the assigned space. You are not supposed to drive off grid at that point, and may be required to tech again. Lastly, just focus on having fun. It will be difficult for you to be within 4-5s of the class win.

See you tomorrow, bright and early.

Thanks for the recomendations. Hopefully I will not have any problems getting to the Fedex field on time and getting the car in line.

Car is clean and ready. I just have some camber wear, I hope they do not give me too much trouble for that...

See ya there.
