You can pay for a weekend membership (I think it is $15) on top of the entry fee. SCCA ends up being pretty expensive. You only get 4 runs and it is ~$40 with the weekend membership. If you want to get a yearly membership it is $85.
Even if you aren't competitive....coming out to an SCCA event would probably be beneficial. The courses are VERY fast....with minimal cones.
Plus....you get to see cars that are far faster than any you will see at local clubs..
Example: UMD FSAE car

At the last SCCA event...
I ran 50-51s
The XP Cobras high 47's
UMD SAE................................HIGH 39's
Crazy fast.

Yeah if you run slicks or have FI you will be in that class. I think it's pretty dumb, but the board votes on what the classing should be. I think they should re-class the X groups.
No, but I can invest in some. I don't know what to really get. I don't want the most expensive stuff, but a moderately priced setup I would be interested in.
I don't think i'll be doing summer school this year so I'm going to come out and play.
Finally got a LSD and more bushings, just gotta install them. It should be fun!
I want to do more AutoX schools this season. The seat time is well worth the extra coin.

You don't really need to drop a lot of coin. I would snoop around in the classifieds for some SPL Front A-Arms.....should be able to get them for 350-400. I run the 350evo which are not made any longer, but very similar to the V2 SPL's. I would just stick with the SPC combo (arms/toe bolts) for the rear. You could probably have both for $525. Then get it aligned.

Which LSD did you get?

I recently got a pair of kinetix that I need to install. The bushings are by Energy and the ball joint is ridiculous. Only downside is that the top of the ball joint is exposed so you need to find a way to cover it. People have used ping pong ***** and medicine caps.
I may be doing the advanced evo school this year, but it is pricey at ~250. Plus I will probably kill a set of A6's in a day .

Ya... A6, you're in a whole different league. I am going to run street tires w/ stock'ish camber
I got Carbonetics Carbon 1.5. I was told these things can take a beating. Changing out the diff fluid every 3k isn't going to be fun though.

The difference b/w the evo school and club schools (like pca and bmw) is pretty substantial. Evo school is taught by National Champions....club schools are taught by people like me lol
.I have the Cusco RS 1.5way going in shortly. One set of A6's in the garage and one in the mail.
Can you adjust caster with the Kinetix?

Now I know why it costs $250. Not sure if I'll be able to benefit from people with that much skill and experience. Just looking to get more seat time, at least more than the 4 1 minute runs.
You're going to be changing out the diff fluid as frequent as I am. I heard the RS uses springs for a more linear engagement, you have to report back on its effectiveness. I couldn't get myself to pay the extra $$$ for the Cusco awesomeness. Envious here...

No, you can't adjust caster with Kinetix. I believe SPL is the only company that makes arms that can. SPL V2 had some ball joint issues, hence V3.

I bought the Cusco used from a BSP car in TN. I took it apart a few days ago...and it looks like new inside.
