he was going to make you drive the posted speed limit? what a D!CK!!!

400 dollars for a radar? fawk that. I dont see the point of having one.

VASCAR has been around for a while, so there isn't anything that can be made to protect you against that.

Also, cops have this thing on there radar guns called a "kill switch" they point it at you, then once they hit that button by the time your detector is screaming at you he already got your speed reading.

Here the police can give evidence that they first estimated your speed based on years of estimating speeds of moving vehicles and then they can pace you based on their speedometer reading. They would have to introduce evidence that the speedometers on their vehicles are calibrated properly. Just like they have to give evidence that radar and laser devices are calibrated, and tested properly.

I can see where this is going lol. Not going to let it go that way by talking about speeding vs the speed limit, cause that's where "not seeing the point in having one" comes from...and Jeff will come and post an essay.

400 dollars is for the top of the line ones.
Mine costed 179, and it's from a reputable company (Beltronics). It is a good device, saved me many times. I highly doubt I would've been pulled over if I wasn't trying to save my good record at work, considering that I saw him before he pulled me over anyway.

Like Legacy said, when I disappeared around the curves, he knew what was up lol.

Considering that he didn't show up on my radar, I'm guessing he had to have been using VASCAR. Maybe I don't need to upgrade..hmmmmmmm..

I've read about Canada speeding laws..really harsh, imo. It's like VA..except for the whole country lol.

Nah I've given up on you.

but because I'm trying to save gas, I wasn't really going too fast (70-80 in a 55 on i83.) So I see a cop get on the highway with me. My first reaction is "%&$# now I'm going to be late!!"
Dude that's so bad ***. Really, you're trying to save on gas so you were only going 10-15MPH over the speed limit and the cop is a loser.

I'm not going to touch the subject anymore. I'll just let Linh do it since clearly my view on anything Shin is wrong.

Shin is like that high school kid that wants to be cool and will say and do anything to come off as cool, everyone sees it and knows it and in the end it doesn't work. He's stupid.

No I'm not trying to be cool, I was simply stating I was running late for work. Usually when I'm running late for work I travel much faster than that, but we already know how people feel about when I talk about that. They get butthurt because I talk about the things I do. So what? I'm going to keep doing it, it's not about being cool, it's about doing what I want.

Glad you have fcking given up, don't have to read anymore essays about why speeding (even a OMG measely 10-15 mph over the LIMIT) in my sports car is bad. As if you've never sped when you were in a hurry or late for something. WELL GEE, SORRY THEY WERE DOING CONSTRUCTION ON MY STREET AND IT HELD ME UP, hence making me run late. But you don't see that, all you see is "omg speed omg law omggg omgg omgggggggg" Stfu.

Like you're so perfect, and you never ever speed, and never ever do over the speed limit NEVER EVER. Such fcking bullsht. God forbid I talk about any type of automotive effort that isn't doing the fcking speed limit on a goddamn car forum.

Yes I called the cop a loser. I guess you've never said ANYTHING bad about a cop either, right? And then I even said I guess he wasn't a loser, since he was nice to me and he only gave me a warning. But you didn't read that part, did you? YOU read "OMG SHIN TRYING TO BE COOL".

Getting pulled over for 10-15 MPH over isn't all that bad but bragging about how its not that fast since you were trying to save gas is where you take it from a normal traffic stop and turn it into a shin story. Cool Story Bra.

Everyone on here speeds, even my mom speeds. But you take speeding to the next level, not just by doing it but always finding a way to brag about it and how you bought your car because its a sports car and how its pretty much your god given right to speed and anyone else who owns a sports car and doesnt speed is stupid because they bought a sports car yet don't do 100mph on public roads in it.

If you feel I'm attacking you in anyway or making crap up. Ask the other forum members of their HONESTY opinion of how you come off on here.

I am thankful you do bring some action back to the Mid A but sadly it's not because of good reasons =(

I'm willing to go way out of my way to help any member on this forum in any way I can. I would do the same for you but it's honestly not going to happen. There's no hope.

We always bust Daves bawls but if he asked me to help him out in any way I'd be there ASAP. Same goes for any other guy in the Mid A. We're like a family in here. Sadly there is always a black sheep (no pun meant)

I know a lot of police officers and 9 out of 10 that I've met have been great guys. There's always that one ******* but clearly today you did not see him. He let you go and you called him a loser. Really Shin... Really?

See? This is the nonsensical bs I'm talking about. I mean I don't have a problem with any of you guys either, but come onnnn!! I'm not trying to be cool or anything like that, I promise. I'm not saying you're stupid or I have the divine right, concerning speeding in a sports car, I'm saying, it shouldn't be a huge deal if I do speed in said sports car.

It's also not like I have a history of running pedestrians over or I am like..super wreckless or something, like give me a break.

Where was the bragging in my post? I simply told a story, and REALLY, the point of the post was to get opinions on radar detectors. Not to brag. What the fck is your problem?

Why do you speed, i mean going with the flow of traffic is one thing but driving faster for no reason is stupid. I mean why risk a ticket for something you do at the track? I am by no means saying i never speed, but you just seem to do it all the time and why do you think our car ins is so high? Its because people like you who cause accident or get numerous speeding tickets for not using common sense. I am just trying to make you grow up to a responsible adult, that you clearly are not.

I speed everyday. I speed with the speed of traffic I do around 70-72mph on 97. That's 5 to 7 over.

Even in the Z I rarely ever get over the speed of traffic. I'll tend to speed more so on the backrounds doing 45-50 in a 35 but that's pretty much the biggest gap you'll see from me.

Well, I will be honest here. If I'm getting on a highway or taking off from a dead stop in the z I might rip through the first few gears hit 75-80mph but then I'll slow it right back down to 55-65 depending on the road.

Not sure why you think we're all big speeders. You really are the only Mid A guy I can honestly say goes above and beyond to not only speed but to let everyone know about it.

I really don't mean to get you butt hurt over this. I'm just being honest here and hope this doesnt turn into a big flame/locked thread.

Please shin I'm asking you nicely. Try to look at what it is you do. Ask yourself. Do you really honestly believe we all do what you think we do. And even if we do speed/street/race/wreck our cars. Does that make it ok for you to do it?
