Sunday Morning Cop encounter
The point of this topic, really, was to find what radar detector everybody else is using. Not to 'be cool'.
They would delete it because it went completely off topic and my question obviously isn't going to get answered.

Bottom line, if people keep viewing it and keep it somewhat clean it will add traffic to the site and in return they make money off it.
Besides, I don't remember you asking about detectors until later in the thread.
The topic of the thread is getting pulled over and how you handled it.
NO I asked the FIRST POST. BECAUSE he pulled up from BEHIND and my radar didn't DETECT HIM. SO I THOUGHT MAYBE I NEED A NEW DETECTOR and that's how VASCAR GOT BROUGHT UP.
Then you wanna get this thing closed because you're getting bashed again lol.
Come on man, when will you learn?
It seems like all the threads you start on this forum is a "I want attention", "wah wah look at me", and they are pointless.
If you wanted to know what radar detector people like, you use the search, or you research the products online and read reviews.
alright time to moon walk outta here... HEeee HEeee OW!
Because I wouldn't be asking what radar detector I needed if it weren't for the cop encounter. It's simple, really. Cause and effect, dude.
How the **** does that translate into asking for attention? I'd rather get an opinion from fellow Z drivers. Is that okay, Goof? Can I get an opinion from friends as opposed to GOOGLE?

Body:
" Hey guys, Well, today I was running a little bit late for work so I admit I was speeding. A police officer caught me and pulled me over, but luckily he was nice enough to give me a warning despite my speed.
Long story short, to keep this from happening again, in your opinion and experience which radar detector would do you like?
Valentine 1, Passport 8500-9500, thanks for your help!"
The end.

Funny part is, in person, and at meets, everybody and everything is cool. IDK WHY, BUT WHEN I GET ON THE FORUM, IT's like OMGGGGG.

" I'd rather tell the whole story, because guess what? I can. I love how people who AREN'T in the Mid-A, didn't give me any of the shyt that you fckers did.
Only biches pass messages through others.

In order to understand why we post up threads (topic could contain any variations of words) We need to understand why we do things from a psychological and genetic standpoint.
The Most Common phrase used in everyday conversation is the word, "I." Why is that? It's because people naturally want others to think highly of them. For example, when you look at a group photo, who's picture do you check out first? Yourself. Even though we look at ourselves everyday prior to going out in public, the FIRST person we still look for in that photograph is ourselves.
Image has been the underlying factor which have created civilizations, kingdoms, wars, wealth, etc. We strive to see OUR name out there, and we'll do what we can in order to be seen as Great. (Ex. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation... why not ABC Foundation? Dell Computers, why not XYZ Computers?)
With that being said, Shin, a person who often is known as "the unliked guy in Mid-A" is no exception to this universal truth. It all boils down to human nature: blame millions of years of genetic programming which made people the way they are, how they act, how they think. Ultimately, it will answer "why did Shin create this thread, then ask for it to be deleted?"
As many of stated, this is in fact an issue dealing with self-image. Don't blame the guy, that's how he or most of us would function to varying degrees. It's more important to understand the underlying meaning of the post vs the actual words. His words say, "10-15 over the limit" which he believes makes him appear larger than life. "Got pulled over, but got off!" - again, makes him appear more special than the rest of the population who simply get ticketed. This phenomenon is accompanied by a photo of himself w/ cop lights in the background to show "yup, it really DID happen... and I ONLY got a warning...!!!" Again, displays a situation that won't happen normally (lucky/larger than life.)
In a nutshell, this was to display that Shin's life is far from normal, and that he was the recipient of an event which happens only to a very small percentage of human beings which "got away w/ a warning" from a law enforcement officer. Proof: would he have started this thread if he got a ticket? Of course not. Why? Because it's a negative hit on one's image. You'd only create threads if you look good in them. Sub-consciously, we always do things that make us look best to others. We always look at our picture first in a group of people to make sure WE look good/presentable. We want to take pictures of ourselves in "larger than life" situations, like a cop pulling us over and getting away w/ just a warning.
"So why does he want this thread taken down?" The purpose of the thread was to exhibit a larger than life story of something that happened to Shin, once it derailed and took a turn for the opposite effect, human nature kicked in and he wished for the thread to be deleted. Simple as that. It also explains why he edited the original post: He received more nay-sayers than yay-sayers. If people praised his actions, he would've kept it uneditted.
The issue with "what radar detector to buy" came later, which had little to do with the original context of the thread. Proof: if this was about which radar detector to buy... wouldn't the "poll option" be best suited for such scenarios? It was a way to diffuse the heat coming toward the OP, clever, but the sooner we're completely honest w/ ourselves, the sooner we can evolve toward enlightenment. And the more parties we'll be invited to. This is not to bash you, I do hope I am shedding light toward helping you understand how your mind functions.
A question arose previously stating "why does Shin start all these threads that go to $H!T?!" The question isn't "why he's starting threads." The question should be, "what is the underlying factor which makes him push the *NEW THREAD* button?" All of us seek attention in varying degrees. Shin being one of the younger members is highly impressionable within a group that is nearly a decade older than him. He seeks acceptance like your annoying little kid brother and to do so he starts a thread about some random topic. It's a way to get his name out there, ultimately, a way to build his image in a community that he wishes to be accepted in. I wouldn't blame the guy for trying, but in turn, perhaps you (Shin) should rethink prior to posting.

If I wanted to fcking search, I would've fcking searched. If everybody searched there wouldn't be much discussion. Sorry if you feel the 'crap' I added was unnecessary. WOW "I'm GONNA RUN 13s"=talking crap. That is the ONLY 'crap' I've talked. Please cite examples before you bring up false bs.
Funny part is, in person, and at meets, everybody and everything is cool. IDK WHY, BUT WHEN I GET ON THE FORUM, IT's like OMGGGGG.

Did I hurt your feelings man? I apologize if I did. You got pretty defensive lol so cheer up!
You may think it's a "fruit" post, but it's a mature example.
I'm not going to lie a lot of this stemmed from you calling the cop a "loser" because one of my good friends is a cop, and my girlfriend is going to the police academy. So by calling someone a loser without knowing them is just a bit much and seems like something you would encounter in high school.
I was called a "loser" many times in school by people who didn't know me and now the I've made something with myself.
