Design your own mini-bar
http://www.ikeahackers.net/2010/11/m...kea-style.html
I know there's alot of DIYers in here [besides Jeff] who might not have the room for a full bar setup or just not want to pay for some of the ridiculous prices for a mini bar. I wanted something small, that could be shoved into a corner, but still able to hold wine, liquor, bar accessories, etc and happened to find this site.
Seems pretty simple and it should fit well in my living room. I'll give it a shot on Friday since I'm off again and try and post pix of the results.

Update: So project mini bar is temporarily on hold because a few of the items I need from IKEA are not only out of stock but they said they won't have them until mid-February. I did find something that may work as a substitute and it's slightly bigger [more room for alcohol
]
But for anyone who wants to attempt this I'm going to give you the names, SKUs and prices for the materials.
EXPEDIT - $39.99 601.352.99
HUTTEN - $9.99 700.324.51
DIODER - $29.99 201.194.18
If I can find some substitute materials, I'm pretty sure my Plan B should come together nicely. Stay tuned....

UPDATE:
Ok, like I said a few of the items I wanted from IKEA were sold out due to the holiday season so right as I was walking out frustrated I came across a TV stand with some glass doors on it called a BESTA. It's about $70 and the 2 doors for it are about $15 a piece. It's actually a lot bigger than the book case I originally wanted and looks alot more like actual furniture [more expensive than $100.00] I also found some wine glass racks called INREDA for $10.00 and they come with 5 racks and the screws to bolt them in.
I just measured out space for 3 of them after deciding which end they'd go on, started the holes with a hammer and nail and simply drilled them in. After that it was a pretty simple assembly. Now I just need to find a wine rack or make one to fit into the bottom half of the opposite side and it'll be done. I decided against the DIODER light racks because there's enough light from the chandelier in my dining room.
Now all I need is for some of my alcoholic Mid-A friends to come through once in a while and help me drink...

Clay, I have these. Would they fit? They are nice because you can stack them. I think Target or Bed Bath and Beyond has similiar ones.

Whatever man, you've got your own "space" with enough room to move around and change up as you see fit. That's all you need man. My place is tiny, but I'm making it fit my personality and when it's time to sell and move on, I'll know I actually improved it instead of just doing nothing like the previous owners.

Our house is finally starting to look like a house. Took a few months but i love coming home now to MY place. When it warms up Clay, you gotta come see the rooftop deck. You wont believe the view of the city.
