opps, was it suppose to be on the DL? Got a text from him a few weeks back about the promotion. Congrats again. Let me know if you still wanted that torque converter, my buddy is trying to unload it soon and is offering a killer deal. Low 13's, that's what's up.

Seems to be the common mentality of todays youth. Be thankful you have a job, your property wasn't damaged, and you have good health. Idk people complain of such petty things. I try not to rant about how bad I have it, my boys are lucky if they get to use the interent or even phone home... forget about even having a warm meal

Have you forgotten what it was like to work through birthdays, holidays, and inclement weather? Either ways Im glad everyone is doing fine and everything is back to normal.

Sandy might not have been much here and many people talk down about it but 59 people to date have died from it.

Just sayin.

I agree with them shutting down Monday, if things went slightly different, Maryland could have had a much higher death toll. Thankfully only 3 people died in Maryland.

For the record I didn't buy chit, didn't fill up on gas or anything. Figured it would go the way it did and thankfully thats how it went.

I have not forgot how it is to work through holidays or birthdays, but I guess to me those are just days. I mean I have always had this mentality, for people who didn't evac from the storms path, death is a risk your take. Its like staying in a dangerous neighborhood where people get hit by strays, you can work hard and get out of that situation. As for people not having internet or phone, those are luxuries. If I didn't have them I would be a little upset but I would find other things to occupy my time. Also a warm meal is always possible if you prepare for the power being out, a simple backpack stove can be powered off of many fuels, and you could use it to cook. I am sorry I guess I am just a heartless bastard, I feel no pity for people who don't either A) prepare for these things or B) are in a bad situation. There are jobs in the US its just people are not willing to move to where they are. If I quit my job today I bet you I could have a job within a month at the most. I mean this area has jobs, and even in my office they are hiring people with zero exp or even a clearance, so there has to be other places out there like this too. So for a lot of people without jobs I don't have a ton of compassion for the, yes I want to help them out but they could go somewhere that there are real employment opportunities. People these days feel too entitled or not humble to take jobs that pay less then they are "worth".

/end rant

59 people stayed in the path of a storm or did stupid things (guy running in a storm and a tree branch killing him) Yes it sucks when people die, but where were they at what did these people do to prepare? I would guess most of them didn't do a lot or think much of it. Monday Did make sense, but after the storm was predicted to not come through this area then there was no need to shutdown Tuesday, but I am sure a lot of this was on the media and CEOs being scared for no reason.

We were in the path of the storm. It missed us and hit them.

You bitched about how stupid it was that we shut down yet now say we should blame ourselfs if we didn't take their advice.

Makes no sense.

Those people that died had the same warnings as us.

Shame on them and f the dc people for shutting down work.

I'm really thankful that everyone is safe and my house is still in one piece. Just got a call from my uncle from New York. Quite a bit of business/property damage... No power, flooding everywhere but everyone is safe. I'm thankful for that.
