Not to familiar with suspension. Not sure what to look for or what to stay away from. I don't do any racing competitions or road courses as of right now but maybe in the future. I do have another car for a DD but mostly drive the Z everyday.
the idea I have is to change the car to where its a different animal so to speak. Not much in making it faster (besides basic bolt-ons) but the overall handling of the car.

Ohlins single adjustable are on clearance right now for around 1800....they are usually listed in the 2500-3000 range, and are quite good.

if you're not doing anything hardcore, springs & shocks will do just fine. Most people never need to actually have a fully adjustable coilover setup.

Kyle just stay on local roads till you get enough confidence. save the highway for when you feel comfortable with it.
