I have 3 lower receivers for the AR 15. I just havent gotten around to building the full gun. hypothetically I should be good to go if there is a ban since the lowers are the serialized part... Thoughts? Its not like they will stop making the rest of the parts.
I didnt like the way I worded the question so I just gave up. I did some poking around and if they do the same thing they did in 1994 the lower would have to be made into a functioning rifle "with assault features" before the date the ban is enacted. Might have to wait to see what happens.
Honestly, I don't see it passing the house. We'll see.
I would hope not. But still. People are upset and making some interesting rants/decisions. From what I read Canada's gun control system is "Federal". A similiar way of dealing with gun laws would mean that all states would be under the same rules and regulations. I dont think I would mind this. I dont care if I walk into a store and it takes me 6 months to buy a firearm. I just want to be able to buy it.
Really it may come down to how fast passage happens. Theoretically, the R's have the numbers in the house. Even if a bunch go for the AWB, the R's will have plenty to filibuster for the forseeable future. On top of that, the D's are in a precarious position for the 2014 election. Many of those up for re-election are in areas where an AWB doesn't poll well.
Downside is stripped lowers are sold out everywhere right now.

I only found one place still taking orders. They say they are 3 weeks out for delivery. coderedfirearms.com I have no clue on the quality though.
Threaten to ban something someone is considering, is an easy way to get them to go buy ****. Also being scared helps too, as much as I want an AR15 I can wait, and if it ends up being banned, meh Ill live.
