What do you guys recommend I get for coilovers. I still DD the Z and will be seeing occasional track use. I know comfort goes out the window with these but something that I can get best of both worlds.

Honestly it most likely is. How much is suspension parts, big brake kit parts, light weight wheels, labor and a legit seat going to cost you?

Once your cars suspension is installed and is dialed in come drive my car back to back with yours.

As far as your struts go, wait and get the good ones. Don't downgrade because something is out of stock/back ordered.

Agree with Jeff, why downgrade parts because you have to wait? Just seems silly to me, Barnabas had the BC and like them on his Z. I had them on the STi I had and did not like them at all (Stock RS felt better then the STi in corners) Not sure if how long they were on my STi so they might have just been old / warn out. Bottom line dont down/side grade because you have to wait a little longer, its not like having them a week or so sooner will really make a difference.

It's more of spending the extra money on a better setup, I could spend 750-800 for Koni Yellows or buy Coilovers between 900-1,300. Figure for the money coils would be best for adjustability

Just because they are coil overs does not mean they are better, you do realize that?

Legit pair of shocks for $750-800 > $900-1,300 coilovers

I don't know of a single coilover brand that is considered "good" by any stretch of the imagination at that price range. Good coilovers run north of $1,800. Once you ride several different brands, you'll notice a big difference between the budget coils vs the real ones.

For what you're trying to accomplish, springs & shocks is more than enough.

I've had my HKS Hyper-max IIIs on for quite a while and no complaints so far. Between these, the sway bars and better tires I noticed an almost immediate change in handling [especially cornering]. It's only been "tracked" once but held up pretty well.
Just my dos pesos...

Of course I realize that, I just thought if I would spend money in that range might as well get something that I could tune/adjust more over the shocks and springs. Ride height, spring set, etc.

I could, better have a choice then to only have one limited option.

I cant think of anyone who changes their ride height after they install their coiloverss, but if that is something you want then might want to upgrade your budget and get better coilovers. But Its a lot of work and a PITA without a lift, so dont think that is something that will really matter. But the bottom line is as long as you are happy with them thats all that really matters.

I've changed my ride height 4x over the years. For clearance and alignment purposes eventually.

Tire clearance. Front end clearance after moving.

Eventually for exhaust clearance as I put a hole in it in Bmore. Last adjustment was because of alignment goals.

Because you get what you pay for.

Most people with coilovers never setup their suspension correctly and almost never keep a proper alignment. Everytime you make the slightest change you need to get it aligned.

Go with good springs that only lower the car by 1 inch and set it once and forget about it.
