[NSFW] Mid-A Epic Random-ness: Third Encounter
Pictures! I try to stay conservative on what I do to the car. I've had the car for a year now.
The red is how it looked when I first bought it, pic is kind of small but yes those are some ugllly a$$ Konig 17's that were on it.
The black is how it currently sits. I added new rims from VMR, 19x9.5 in front and 19x10.5 in the back wrapped in Hankook V12's (255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 back).
The plastidip came along back in August when I felt like I needed a change. I've seen it a lot of times on the site and was kind of iffy due to the "oh it's rice blah blah blah" crowd on the site.
My buddy started talking to me about it because he knew I wanted a change and one of his friends had a company starting up that dipped entire cars for a decent price. He started showing me pictures of the cars they've done (mostly their BMW) and I was down for trying it out. It has lasted great and more or less protected my paint underneath from those aholes who want to be careless when they open their doors.
Once this starts wearing off (they said the dip lasts approx. 4 years you just have to fix small spots here and there), or probably when the summer comes around I'll be trying to do a vinyl wrap. Eventually I'll go back to the original red by peeling it all off but for right now I like the change.
List of mods I've done so far:
07 headlights with HIDs, (Was a 04 base model)
JWT Clutch and Fly
Popcharger
Custom Test Pipes (problem back in August involving a car and a fire hose link in D.C... had to get something new...)
This year I'm definitely going to get around to finishing the exhaust system and work on the suspension. I'm not planning on doing anything with the engine. Eventually I'll get there but for the time being it's my DD and I'd rather have something reliable and just enjoyable to drive.
From reading this forum a lot I've seen too many people think they can just throw money at this car (or any car) and just expect it be fast and enjoyable. If you can't drive it or enjoy it while it's OEM how do you expect you'll handle it 400-hp?
You'll end up doing something bad like hurting yourself and or you'll crave more and just run yourself into not appreciating the car anymore.
My goal isn't that, I just wanted a hobby that I could learn on my own/or with help and feel accomplished with what I do. My 350 is that hobby.

^^^Or the government becomes your babies daddy
To add to the no boost. You guys have done it so much I'd feel ashamed to put up any crappy numbers. Give it time, I'll get there eventually!

All that matters is your not making crappy n/a power. The z isn't fun until after well into the 300s hp wise.

It's like knowing the engines limit but going FI just for the thrill, at least at one point of their build...
Looking foward to a new episode of family in 10 min bishes!

I always contemplate going FI but wouldn't push past the 400-450 HP range; for more "conservative" power. Was looking at a single turbo kit (think S&R has one for the HR) or a supercharger.

I need a good hiking/work boot. Id like waterproof and non steel toe. Anybody got anything they've bought recently that they like?
I currently have a pair of the Merrell thermo 6s that I love. They are just a little too warm for indoor use all day.

Nothing wrong with a correctly done stock block boosted Z 400-450whp is do able and people have managed to get many miles out of their motors.
The problem is being happy. You need to be happy with having that kind of power and not want more.
In the end you are better off selling or trading your car and buying another car that is already done, trick is finding one done correctly. Talking to people like hills garage can point you in the right direction on legit cars locally that are on the market.
