Shin you cannot possibly compare launching an automatic and a manual...it's not even close, especially a higher hp manual..... Auto is what it is man(especially a low hp one) it Doesn't take much... That should have been proven to you the first time I drove your car

Some arguments you just gotta know when to walk away...this is one of them...unless you have personally launched a mt car there is no reason to talk....

I never said that it took more skill to launch an auto, man. I just wanna to see if Scott can launch his car.

In fact, that is my entire argument of why I think I even have a slightest chance against Scott, because it is harder and it does take more skill to launch a MT, especially a high power one.

If a track rental actually happens we can set up some call outs, after people have dialed in...

I wish I could have a better launch then a 2.3 SMH, really hope that track rental goes through. Looks like I may not be in that store for much longer.

And they're trying to tell me the limits of MY car.

So for like the past two days I've been going back and forth with like 5 people who don't know anything. The thing is with them, two of them apparently wants to literally..fight me.

I think it's time move on to the next group.
You do know that the 350z is one of the worst RWD handling cars out there right? At least from factory.

The LSD is crap.
Understeers like crazy.
Making it oversteer properly is difficult and almost impossible to recover with the stock diff.
Heavy as hell.
Needs to rev up to get anywhere even though it has a big engine.
Should I keep going?

Heck, I believe even the solstice is faster at the SCCA Nationals and they are still the same group.

Nope.

Actually, the 350z is one of the cheapest sports cars to insure. I believe is due to the big amount of old people driving them.

It is definitely cheaper than Scions (or other cheapo kid car), S2000s, STis, Evos, etc...

You cannot compare the Z with older cars. You gotta compare with its generation and a few years prior or later.

Im sure the new mustang will give any Z a run for their money for example.

So I'm thinking if going to IFO tomorrow, as a spectator, but probably driving the Z there. Anyone else going to be there? Ive been to this event a few times, I'm just looking for a reason to get outta the apartment for a few hours. Condensation from my AC leaked into my living room and maintenance has the carpet torn out and my furniture is all over the place...

Shin you do realize things have changed right... you mentioned a couple garbage cars (also the 2000 mustang cobra R did work)....I don't even need to mention the higher dollar domestics(vette/ viper/ ford GT/ CTS-V) etc as they dont fall in the same price bracket)....

but here is some food for thought.. using the C/D lighnting lap historical reuslts as a measure (they are on number 6 now, accepted by most enthusiast's I have spoken with)

The following cars were faster than the nismo 370z around VIR...

Shelby GT 500
Charger SRT8
Challenger SRT8
Camaro SS
Mustang 5.0

now here is the wake up call... the nismo 370z was only .5 seconds faster than the 350z track model! (not saying this isn't signifigant, but when compared to the gains made by the mustang for example..it stands out)

guess what matched the 2006 350z track model's time last year....The V6 mustang (with a governor limited to 114mph, which is the only reason it could not best the Z's time)

also of noteworthy mention the Cobalt SS was only .5 slower than the 2006 350z track edition (and beat out cars like the Evo MR/ Sti/ 135i) not bad for a chitbox

what this tells me is other domestic cars are/were progressing.... and the Z (and a few other models) not so much.... good thing the GTR is holding its own for Nissan

This is news to me....the can't handle?

Bracket racing autocross....awesome format. Oh yea....right side was a .501 light (.500 is perfect). Still got it at the tree...

From :20-:23 (when you see the car jutter) there is so much grip the front tire is about 8" off the ground.
