[NSFW] Mid-A Epic Random-ness: Third Encounter
Scott I like you, but you keep posting and inquiring on bigger numbers, go drive your fawking car man. Go get seat time at a track. It's the only way you appreciate what .1 of a second improvement feels like.
Stop holding off go do it.

To be honest I am scared I will take the car into a wall at the track. I have zero exp on an actual track and I have very little seat time in the car. The big thing about driving it is that I commute 30 miles each way a day in traffic and its not exactly a fun clutch. On top of that I keep it in the garage most of the time and if I wanted to drive it to work I would have to move it to the street the day before since I am usually the first person out of the house in the morning. There have been times I am like I want to drive the Z today its a nice day out, but its so much work to go get other peoples keys to move their cars so I can drive it to work in the morning. I would much rather start at the track a few times in the STi and once I feel like I understand the track and how everything works there, then I would be more comfortable driving the Z.
Tracking the STI will only help with learning the track. I used to move 4 cars onto the street to drive my car and do it again when I returned late at night. It was worth it to drive the $hitbox.
Start racking up the miles. Go out in a safe spot and start getting used to 2nd gear wheel spin. Over time it will feel natural to countersteer to stay straight. Then 3rd gear. Then winter comes around and you have chances to spin 4th.
Leave the STI at home. Drive the car. Even in traffic you are getting used to the engagement point over and over and it's beneficial to you believe it or not. Carbon clutch? If so traffic will change the way it slips as it heats up.

Also note I have a small hole in my Rad, was planning on pulling it out this winter and taking it to be welded.

driving a RWD car at 10/10ths is completely different than driving an AWD car at 10/10ths. You take different lines, different entry/exit speeds, diff times when to be on-throttle vs off-throttle... pretty much diff everything.
There are certain things you can do w/ an STi that you can never do w/ the Z and vice versa. If you want to be better at driving a RWD car, drive the Z. AWD is a completely different platform.

Why are you waiting until the winter to fix the radiator for a small leak? Why not pull the radiator out on a weekend, take it to a radiator shop that feels comfortable welding on aluminum and get it fixed. Then reinstall and bleed the coolant system a few times.

Because I would rather wait until then and take it to my dads guy back home that has years of exp and will do it for a good price.
Also I think the cool repair bill I got with only like 500 miles on the car is making me not want to drive it.
Once I get a little more established with my bank account and have more play money, I am sure the car will see more action.
If you're scared of hitting a wall at a straight line track what makes you think you're NOT going to hit a wall (or car/person) on the street? Sounds like you should keep your car N/A and parked.
I don't push it on the Street, and its not hard to drive a modded car at the flow of traffic in this area.
