I don't have too if you will be running a Z4 BMW.....

I would like to do some more testing before I spend more money and order a Track model. I have atleast 9 months before I need one anyway.

So Carter, Which model did you get, and will you be at talladega?

Mark, You heard about Mark Allen and G Warren getting S2K's (maybe just one, I'm going off what I was told) right. Looks like it will be a big fun class at FM this year. We had Darren Drive negcambers (the one I was driving) at FM for the for the test day prior to the state championships and he seemed pretty hooked. Maybe we can get Darren in one too.

Wow, BS is going to be very interesting this year. I did not know Mark Allen bought an s2k!

I bought the Enthusiast model Z. I bought it mainly for a street car for myself to go to work in. But due to the circumstances with my sponser and maybe the lack of an Auto-x car for 03' we decided to race the Z. I guess that means I get to kepp driving my Sentra to work.

I am stuck with 17x7.5 fronts and 17x8.0 rear. I might be the only one in an enthusiast but I was also the only one with a 91 turbo Mr-2 at the end.

I am planning on Talladega and also 'maybe' FM, but not sure about FM now. I have to talk with my sponser first.

Fun stuff. I'm planning on taladega if we can get the tow car done. I wish PRO would post some hotel information and what not. Well I can't wait to see ya there with the Z. Not to sure what we will be using for tires. Probably going to be old dead kumho's as usual. I can't seem to make tires last long.

I'm not surprised, MA works at a Honda dealership in south FL. FM always favors the S2000, long narrow runway makes it transition down, turnaround, and transition back deal. It's just practice for Nationals in my book, most of my time will be spent just trying to dial in a new car. I'll be at the Nat'l Convention the Talladega weekend, but I don't currently have any plans to run PRO anyways.

You'll want to stay in Oxford, AL for hotels, north of the track at I-20. The paddock area is just grass & gravel, bring jacking boards, etc., maybe even studded ice tires too; it's been known to sleet and snow at that time of year around there. You'll likely be freezing your b@lls off at a minimum; better you than me

Here's a link for some of the Oxford hotels:

I usually stay at the Wingate Inn for the high speed connection. Let me know if you need other info on Talladega, etc.

Hey thank you Mark, I owe you one. The track is asphalt correct? asphalt plus gravel pit area, plus Cold weather means it's not a hoosier weekend. (completely kidding) I wonder how the Kumho rally tires would be, I bet I could get them to last longer. S2000 in snow just sounds scary!

it's an asphalt road course type track; i.e. narrow. While the trees and fences are back away from the track, people have gotten into them there. You do not want to go off at speed, particularly sideways, lots of soft dirt to hook a wheel. More than likely the ground will be too wet for that (Feb is the wet month) , but then you won't be slowing down as the trees loom into view. The weather, you just never know, keep an eye on the reports. Forget about the rally tire, ain't gonna cut it on the asphalt just in case you weren't joking.

BTW CT; neither of those two 17" tire sizes you mentioned in the other thread are available in the AX compound. With changes on the horizon it's unlikely H would be willing to produce any. If you want the AX compound you'll probably have to use the more common 245/40-17.

Yep, you are correct. Just ordered 245/40/17's for the Z. I think they should be just as good or better.
