350Z"s are nice rides... it's a shame this board isn't more hospitable. Try to correct someone's misinformation and suddenly you've grown a mullet and your plastic car is falling apart on it's way to a sub-par timeslip for a 346cid.

Oh well, there are nice guys and jerks on every board.

 

I am glad to see there is at least one Z owner that doesn't have his head up his Z's tail pipes and can realize that there are other sports cars besides the Z in the world.

 

Yup my props to hedonist, he has been very nice...

 

I think a lot of people grow a big head when they get a new car, so the sentiment typically found on message boards against "the others" is common.

Regardless, I have no doubt that you can pass me in a straight line... in the esses, that's another story...

 

Have you ever been to a car board where there wasn't a lot of this stuff going on?

I haven't.

This one isn't as bad as many, I will say that. There are some people that hate all domestics, all Hondas, etc, but I think they might just be the vocal minority.

I think there are many just car guys and gals here. I personally try to keep an open mind. Heck, this is my first Japanese car.

 

The 350z guys are not as bad as the LS1 guys. Go post a 03 cobra beats an LS1 thread over there. Gets ugly every time.

 

Bit of an overstatement, but there's some truth to it. All the whining about "if an LS1 had a blower" is just as bad as the years of "if the GT had 0.7/1.1 more liters" or the new "wait until my 350Z gets a TT kit"... what ever happened to run what'cha brung?

 

ahhh the reaction is about the same over here too. Try posting a Jbody over a 350 win. That's always an instant classic

 

Well seeing as how my suspension isn't stock either, I would probably give you a run for your money there to

(As long as they are not bumpy esses )

 

We all have a need for speed...personally it doesn't matter to me what somebody buys to feed the need....just so long as it is not all show and no go(rice)

I personally love the classic magazine racing. "There's no way you beat (insert car) that bad because R&T said it's .05 sec faster than the (insert car).

Well, there's also the tone in which the post is made. Put up a trollish headline, and people are bound to respond in kind.

I think most of the people reading this board are pretty reasonable, but there definitely are some that seem to have a fit anytime a different car is said to be "faster".

Ahh well, it happens with everything. Some people just need the security in knowing that they got the best car, game console, DVD player, intake, exhaust, whatever, and as soon as someone questions that, their entire self worth begins to crumble. Just reassure them that yes, the Z will destroy a Z06, and then move on and let them live in their ingorance.

I think most enthusiasts realize that the Z is an excellent sports car at an excellent price, but so are many other cars out there, and anyone who truly thinks the Z is the be-all and end-all of sports cars really needs to go test drive some others.

After I posted my account of installing harnesses here, someone who saw it posted at CornerCarvers.com that I had done a really stupid and dangerous install, based on a number of incorrect assumptions.

A member there PMed me here to say I was being talked about. I went over and posted a detailed message that corrected their mistaken information. However some others misread that long post and started flaming me for saying things I hadn't said at all. More people piled on with insulting comments about what they THOUGHT I had said.

I tried to remain civil while correcting their mistakes, but at least one guy seemed too full of himself to possibly admit he had made an error. The whole thing was stupid and unpleasant, and I probably won't go back there.

For the most part, people here seem more polite.

**** poor attitueds by most there. They take great pleasure in insulting new guys or those who do not have their car equiped with the VERY BEST upgrades...and God forbid you actaully like another part they they do....

Honestly I can say, out of all the boards I am/have been a member of....that is the worst as far as attitude.

 

You know, if the price of getting supposedly good information is to be insulted for things you didn't even say, I'll get my information elsewhere.

Besides, most of the really knowledgeable people I've met in my life weren't arrogant and obnoxious about it. The arrogant ones generally think they know a lot more than they really do.

 

Bottom line:

There are ALWAYS haters on EVERY car board that think their car is the best. This is not a Z-exclusive thing. I repeat, it's on EVERY car mesage board.

 

This is just a question and not meant to insult anyone. I would just like to know why people with either no Z or no interest in one would even come to this site? I am indifferent to Camaros and Mustangs but would definitely have no interest in spending time on their boards, especially if I were to talk about 350Z's. Mustangs are fast, Corvettes are faster, but I don't like either one. Somebody please enlighten me.
