03 Cobra VS a Triumph......motorcycle that is

Lightly modded, they probably both had about the same HP, and at HWY speeds, TQ doesn't play as big of a factor.....but that weight difference is a big factor...
nice run...now that I finally got it to work

Yes, torque helps at any speed....but once your up and moving, it is much less of a factor.
Also, again at speed weight is much less of a factor...but for example, 3000 lbs for the maxima (not sure if that is with or with out a driver)....but the Cobra is 3600 lbs (with out driver)....everything else equal.....you really think they are going to pull equally as fast?
Not trying to be a pain in the butt...but 600 lbs (without driver) is a pretty heafty weight to be hauling.

No for what really matters is the car that the Maxima raced was not a 03 Cobra. If it was with the mods listed it would have pulled that Maxima (More then likely) Click on the link of the car dynoing with only exhaust mods 425 RWHP

Ya know....just for the record, I think it's pretty messed up you have to register on some boards JUST TO READ IT (hint, hint

A Turbo maxima recently put down 429rwhp. As for torque, if you have cars with equal hp and one has more peak torque than the other than obviously the one with LESS peak torque is making it at a much higher RPM. Therefore the car with LESS peak torque will most likely have more pull in the top part of the rev range (where races from a roll usually happen).
If you want to split hairs on weither or not a turbo max could beat a lightly modded 03 Cobra....let's just say this. The max in the video was running 10.5psi with his varible intake manifold INOP. If he was running his usual 14psi with an operational Variable intake manifold, he would make a good bit MORE power than a lightly modded 03 cobra while still weighing in at 600lbs less.
What's really the most amusing is that we're having a conversation about weither or not a Turbo V6 powered family sedan could pull on a Supercharged V8 Muscle Car

I think it is great that tubro modded maximas are putting down 429RWHP that's great.
Some modded 03 Cobras are putting out over 550RWHP. They have not even been out a year yet give it more time and you will be seeing over 700RWHP on stock internals. My point is the 03 Cobra has much more potential for power then a Maxima

Got a quick run for ya while I was on vacation.
Recently, I've had a hard time getting guys with cars to run (come on...the car's not unbeatable)...so I was coming home one night, and this guy goes by on some type of Triumph motorcycle. Not your "crotch rocket" type bike...I would race one...but would NOT expect to win, thats for sure.

Or this?
From your description of the bike and the race I think you would have raced one of the above. Truimph also released a speed four which is a 600cc bike that to most people would look the same as a speed triple.
Stock speed triples dyno between 100-115hp to the wheel depending on year. 1/4 mi times are high tens and top speed is 140-ish. The speed four runs the 1/4 mi in mid-elevens and the thunderbird is high twelves. All of the above bikes have engines and gearing tuned for low to midrange power and are not aerodynamic in any sense of the word.
I have a speed triple and the things hauls until I get to about 120mph. After that it's like I have my foot on the rear brake but I'm still trying to accelerate! These bikes are great for the real world because they have accessible powerbands and instant power but they are not top speed bandits.
