Talking first kill..... loud *** '98 Mustang GT

Cool, finally a cool race. It was like a '97-'98 Mustang GT. That **** sounded scary. The dude said all he had was an exhaust, I believed him. He also had some big *** Cobra Wheels. We take off & are about even in 1st, with a bunch of wheel spin, both of us. By the time I shifted to 2nd, I started slowly pulling away, by 3rd I was already ahead & slowly pulling away.

Cool race, overall I think I should have pulled on him faster, the old GT's were slow.

Up next: I know this guy with a lightly modded M3 that wants a piece this weekend. Can't wait, it will be very close!

Good kill....
He probably had an off road H pipe, and flowmasters (what about 80% of all Mustang guys run....) if he was running "dumps"...then yeah, he was probably REAL loud...lol

What year M3 are you going to run....you may have your hands full with this one (depending on year, of coarse)

Again, good kill

That sounds exactly like a race I had last weekend. It was a '96-'98 GT w/ the 4.6, very loud exhaust and Cobra wheels. We went a few times, all from a roll from 5-20 mph or so and up to 60 (top of 2nd gear). Every time was the same, we would both get on it, I would lose traction a bit in first so we would stay pretty even (he hooked up), and once I shifted to 2nd I quickly put space between. Once I was in 2nd I pulled about a car on him. I'm looking for a '99+ GT to run, that should be a much better race.

The M3 is gonna be a '95-99 e36. I wouldn't think about being close with a '01+ M3, hehe, unless the driver was an idiot.

Yeah, this one should be close.

Good kill!! From now on just look for 99 or newer GTs to mess with. THe SOHC models are hardly a race at all. The 99+ are MUCH quicker. Still pretty easy to kill for me..but definately a lot closer.

Yeah but if a 99+ GT was as bone stock as you It might not be as easy as a kill, if a kill at all.

My auto ran 14.1 @ 97mph Bone stock with 74,000 miles and a burnt trans. (I know cuz it cooked less than a week later.)

Your right.. it would be pretty close if I was still stock. then again so would a 350Z.

Just curious what do you have done to your car?

I use to have an LT4 Vette so I know what a LT1 can do once modded.

- Ported, Polished, Decked Heads
- Removed Airpump
- Removed Cat
- 3inch Stainless with Flowmaster Series 80
- 2200 Stall
- Stage 2 Shift Kit
- Manual Valvebody
- Free Mods (Airbox Removed)
- 3:42 Auburn Posi

Nothing major as of yet.

I don't have a dyno as of yet...My guestimates have me around 290~300rwhp..(being modest...someone just dynoed 295rwhp with exhaust, k&N, removed emissions, and stock heads).. So Im hoping Headers, and K&N will be enough to push me to 325~330rwhp. All will be revealed on the dyno though.

I've killed an 03 GT--it still had the paper plates on it (but so did I). Not trying to start a war here, just telling ya it can very well be done.

I drive both cars, my 350Z and my wife's 99 Mustang GT Convertible. They're both stock and i think it should be a pretty close race 0-60, but in terms of handling, there is no comparison!!! The Z's handling is just amazingly better than the Mustang's!!! Another thing is the quality of the materials. The Z's isn't that good compared to some other cars, but still a lot better than the Mustang's.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, i enjoy both cars, but i love my 350Z!
