Thumbs up My times and kills from the dragstrip yesterday

Hey me and ACEMAN from this site met at a dragstrip in MD yesterday. I have a stock base and this was my first time racing my Z. Anyway----

My Kill List- Honda Civic hatchback, Eclipse, Mustang, and the best one of all.... A all hooked up S2000, he had a bunch of stuff done too his car and I challenged him to race even though i was stock and I smoked him by two car lengths.

My best run- 14.100 @ 100.56 mph, R/T .721

Me and aceman ran three times and I won the first, he got the second and the third race is under review!!!( Right ACEMAN)

Nice runs.

Those s2000's are SLUGS off the line unless they launch high in the RPM band.

If it was the same track as that pic the WS6 guy posted, it wasn't MIR, I know that much

I miss all the good drag strips in MD and VA, near DC.

Default Hey

Yeah it was the all hooked up black S2000, beat him by about 1- 1/2 car lengths. My 0-60 Ft was 2.166.It was at the mason dixon dragway, and it was a pretty fun day. Im either going to MIR or Mason Dixon again next saturday, so if anyone wants to go, just pm me or just let me know over this thread.

You should check out the track on bracket racing days. YOu get three practice runs and then you get to race. The wait time is alot less.

I haven't been there since 1999, but MIR was the best on Fridays. They had some super cheap entry thing. We used to go there to drag our bikes. We worked 7am-3pm though so we could get out of DC early and get there about 30mins before the track opened. I think it opened at 5 or 6. We would get a ton of runs in each night, probably something like 7-10 depending on the night, and if you made it a few rounds in you could go even further.

I miss all the tracks that were around there, not much here near Austin.

Default Hey Last Ws6

Hey Last WS6, on the bracket days, do stock cars just run with other stock cars or how are they put together? My car would be in the stock class, so in the past what were the winning times of that class for an example.

In trophy class you can line up with anything. I lines up with a toyota that dialed in at 16.8 on my first run and then the next run a 10 sec camaro.

Your reaction time and how close you get to your dial in time without going over it determines who wins.

Lets say you and i line up together. YOu dial in at 14.0 and i dial in at 12.4. We both cut a .550 reaction time but i run a 12.39. I loose. It is pretty fun. You do not have to have a super fast car. You just have to cut consistant reaction and 1/4 mile times.

I destroy my buddies S2K from a roll...and beat him handily (couple lenghts) from a stop. Driver skill is not an issue as he is the one who TAUGHT me how to drive stick many years ago...

Uh, no. 82 degrees out and around 60% humidity last summer. Track elevation is a low 160 ft. I have the timeslip and the video if you would to see.
