I just got back from the track I went with a few members from my350z we had an awesome time!

We got some good runs in and had allot of fun!

Ok now for the times this was the first time I have ever raced at the track I have done allot of street racing but it's not the same. On my first run I hit a 14.3 @98 I really wanted a 13.9!

My best run of the night was a 14.0 @ 100 with a 2.20 60ft.

Next time we need more members to come with! It was great to meet DrRick and antz cool guys!

 

great to meet you too, jesse. although, i think that my times may have improved with some practice, 14.4 was cool for me. (ok, im lying, really wanted a 13 sec ET too). it was obvious from the traps that the Z has a better power to weight ratio than the coupe (and that i need to hit the gym). all in all, a great time. we gotta do it again sometime soon. when i am less tired though......

I had a great time. I ran my Z for the first time also. DeviousZ, I will scan our last timeslip and post it in the next couple of hours. Can't say how much fun that was, to go neck and neck the whole way down the strip with another Z. It was also my best time of the night. 14.11 @100.49 2.24 60ft. Launching was a bit tricky. Good to meet you Rick and Jesse. We had many comments on our Z's and Rick's G35c. My favorite, was when a guy came up to me and Jesse, and said " I watched you two run, those things are cute, just need a little more power." Jesse commented, " Yeah, well we beat every stock mustang here." Then I watched the guy walk back to his car......a 2002 GT with a 14.3 brackett time on his window. Oops. Again, I will scan the timeslip shortly.

Yes, I am stock expect for insane's grounding kit. I had 3/4 tank of gas, and I'm 200lbs. I can't figure how professional driver's in magazine's pull 14.4's in this car. DeviousZ was also a stock track model. I have 3500 miles on it. 35psi in the tires.

 

Thanks for posting the time slip Anthz I don't have a scaner... Yes that last race was so close we were right next to each other the whole time!

My car is also stock I am very happy with the numbers we were able to come up with as a driver I need a little more practice and I am sure we will some 13 sec time slips!

P.S. to all that go to the track don't forget to turn off your VDC before you run Anthz and I learned that the hard way!

 

that's the same thing i was thinking. it seems that some/most people are getting the same or better then 14.4.

so dr drick wat was ur highest trap speed?

 

it was mid to high 97's. from the traps of the devious and antz runs while i was there, my traps were about 1.5 mph off theirs. of course their's went up considerably as the night wore on. more practice or cooler air, you pick. i just hate that the car wheel hops so bad. makes me feel like i am killing it.......

What RPMs were you guys launching at? Did you slip the clutch, or dump it? I am surprised that with 35 PSI you can hit low 14's. Good times nontheless.

 

You all can bet your a**es my car is gonna be running on empty when I go down the track, hah. I am going to go ahead and predict 13s the first time I go. Time to start building up the hype

 

That's the kinda hype I like. I was launching at about 2k, tried varying it a bit, the track was a little slick. ( a lot of water from other cars burnouts, that couldn't be driven around ) I would have to feather it a bit to avoid excess wheel spin. Next time I go (if I still have the RE040's) I will lower my tire pressure 10 psi, and see if that helps. Rob, I met you at the COTZ meeting last month, If you go, shoot me a PM.

 

Yeah I was thinking about going back to the track in maybe 2 weeks we should all get together again! Anthz, DrRick, and Rob you should come too this time! I think after the few practice runs we got that we can all hit into the 13's!!!!

not yet, I am getting a new tranny this wed.

 

Yeah I talked to Steve today and he said you guys were having tranny problems what's up with that???? Are they going to replace the tranny or just fix it???
