Performance vs. Track vs. Enthusiast...in 1/4 mile
Who's running the best times? I know every drivers diff...I ask cuz...
Performance (18's) heavy?
Track (18's) lightweight
Enthusiast (17's) smaller diameter rims, and lighter then performance rims...
or do any of the stock rims have very little/no effect on the times?

I can help answer this. Two us did it just last week, I drive a stock performance and went to rivercity raceway with DeviousZ, who has a stock track model. We ran neck and neck to whole way. 14.11 @100.49mph to his 14.07 @100.51mph. Here is the link..

The weight difference of the wheels arent enough to put a big dent on ETs. Just as the other post said, it depends mostly on driver's skill when youre comparing the same car which basically the 3 models you had metioned.
If you are gonna make wheels an issue, I can tell you that drag radials are bigger, heavier but stickier and have a larger contact point thus they are better for drag racing.
The only difference with the 3 models would be handling due to the wheels. 18s would have an edge due to a larger contact patch but I doubt that it will make a big difference. Tire tread configuration has more to do with it, esp on a skid pad. The 18s have a noticeable harshness on the ride though coz of the stiffer tire sidewall.

actually the big fat 18s might suffer from bad traction when they float over bumps. the tracks wont, and the 17s should be better.
tires weight will affect ET, they are rotational mass, since the stock 18s are about 27lbs, and a set of lightweight like track rims or other forged rims are about 18, your looking at near 40lbs of lost weight. a significant difference all by itself, but then when you consider that they are unsprung weight, youd be hard pressed to find a better place to lose weight.
