Dave,

I sent you an e-mail, but here's a repost of the questions in case others have similar ones (or in case others already know the answers).

1. Are the membership dues yearly, lifetime, or what?
2. Approximately how much track time are we looking at?
3. One of the requriements for the time trail is to have a timer in the car. Is this device available for rent, or is it something we must own, or is it provided free of charge for the duraction of the TT?

Hi Scott,

Glad you're interested. Here you go:

1) NCRC membership is one-time/lifetime, as long as you run with us at least once a year.
2) At least four 25-minute sessions (4 run groups), but we sometimes open the last session of the day to merged groups if not as many folks are driving, to give an extra session
3) I just found out the TT for 5/2 may not happen (we're trying to do this event as cheap as possible, so that may get the axe). If it's critical for you, check back in about 24 hours and I'll have the final call on it. But as far as the equipment, we use the HotLap timers, and we provide the transmitter at the track. Anyone participating in the TT (no Novices allowed) must have the receiver unit in his car. We don't have them available.

At this poing, doing track days that are not timed are a waste of time for me. Let me know if you are going to run timing or not. And are you going to run timing all day or just one session????

Steve,

Our Time Trial event is a formal time trial, that gets folks points for our "series" for 2003. Anyone's welcome to participate in that, but I suspect it isn't what you're referring to. We use the HotLap system, and provide the transmitter on the track, all day, regardless of whether we're actually running one of our Time Trials. So if you have the in-car half of the HotLap, you can certainly collect your lap times all day.

Hope that's what you were looking for...

Dave
